How to translate Digimon Adventure?
Again xhai, what are you doing ?

i don't know digimon skills..
i try to find the digimon names and skills...

Again xhai, what are you doing ?

It is just, by now we translated all the Names and Moves, and I did translate practically all menues and more.
Those guys can do their thing. It is just you are wasting your time... But hey, if you have too much of it, so be it.
Have your fun, gather experience. I don't mind.
I really appreciate your work on the full translation patch, but I don't know why you say that their work is a waste of time. These guys will release a patch for the menus and stuff once they have it ready. You could do the same if you wanted to right now, but your goal is to to release a full translation patch and I respect that; but for the people who want to just play the game right now and understand what they're doing, this menu patch is enough for now.
In a analogy, it would be like this menu patch they're doing is like an appetizer, but the patch you're developing with the team is the main meal.

When did I claim that I would release only a full translation patch for Adventure?
I only said this for Redigitize.
so, if you are not doing a full translation on this game and you've already translated the menus, names and moves, would you mind telling us what's left for your patch to be complete (I mean, what other things you plan to include) ?

I could but where would be the fun in it?
Every quality work needs its time, I understand the urge to play it as fast as possible, but you must undertand the urge in us,
doing something as great as Digimon and especially Adventure (The Beginning, just as reminiscent as Digimon World 1 though different), justice.
For what it's worth I can tell you this much: Many things are still undecided.
I understand that these things take time, and what I'm gonna say now is not intended to insult any people's work or anything, it's just that I don't fully get it: you are a part of a team who is translating this game, and we *assumed* that you were gonna do the full game. It turns out that you're not. No problem with that. However, other members are also working on their own patches for partial translation (menus and stuff) and your team automatically assumes that their patch is inferior or a waste of time. IF let's say, the user xhai for example (all this that I'm gonna say is hypotetical), releases a nice partial translation patch in these days (before your team releases their own) and then, months later your team releases your patch (which is also, for the menus and stuff but not for the story), then why would you thought in first place that his patch (remember, hypotetical) was a waste of time, if users could play the game in a matter of days instead of months?

The reason for that is that the structure is not something you can release a useful partial patch on without having programming skills.
We never put down the work of other people, but we know for a fact how hard this is to do, and we know that most people use Hex Editors and this is not the way.
Especially not for Adventure.
Also: While looking up in Wiki and Dictionaries and similar is never wrong, real Japanese skills and Experience would be useful.
This is by no means a brag, but without having those skills there are only two ways you can go:
1. You look up everything to be sure you make it correct.
-> Makes you too slow and still not error proof as you have to rely on Dictionaries and Wikis made by humans who also make errors.
2. You use Google Translator

Re-writing post since ROM commented.
See this is where even I'm having some issue with this.
Let them do their thing and don't bother them. They'll learn better methods. My Gundam AGE patch, fully done with MadEdit and VERY little programming skill and only a basic understanding of Japanese. It makes the game fully playable and allows players to best customize their units. Granted it wasn't hard to figure out before, this just makes things easier.
I also used Google Translate to double check or confirm/deny some things I ran across. It's a very useful tool at the very least for hearing the pronunciation of words/names.
Also the Danball stuff I do is 90% from Dictionaries and Google translate since I'm still learning the language. I only have real troubles with dialogue and actual sentences.
You can get out a good quality menu patch with only a little skill. It just takes time and effort to make up for the lack of skill.

Well Digimon is a completely different piece of cake. Starting with: The most integral Menu (The Battle Menu) is an image which is packed in the CPK package.
Taking the repacking aside you will have issues putting it back in and having the game starting normally. Most likely ( I haven't tested it yet, it is just assumption)
While in gerenal what you say is possible, as I said for THIS particular game those methods won't really work.
