Recently I fucked up my back where I had surgery on years ago. I don't know how I did, but I'm unable to sit until I have no idea. Which means I haven't been able to play any WiiU or PS3 as that requires me to sit down on a chair or couch. But I decided to hook up my old gamecube in our guest room so I can lay down on the bed and play some games.

I don't have any games myself so I've been forced to borrow my friend's games. No stores here sell GC games. EB games only has PS2 and Xbox for "old games" and no thrift stores or pawn shops carry any either. Anyways, these are the games I've been playing, put into spoiler form to make it easier for you to decide what to read.

Luigi's Mansion
Anyways, the first game I beat was Luigi's Mansion. And I have to say, I don't get why all the hate for that game. I loved it. I thought it was really fun. A bit short, but the graphics, music and tone all made me feel like I was playing a Nintendo game, I thought it was awesome.

Pikmin
Now I'm starting Pikmin. I've never played Pikmin before, so it's taking me a while to get good at it. I hate how Pikmin somehow get stuck behind shit, like they can't just follow you, or they'll randomly attack stuff for no reason. Still an enjoyable game.

Mario Sunshine
I'm also currently playing Mario Sunshine. I'll admit, first time I played this years ago, I loved it. Never beat it or got far in it, but I still enjoyed it. But as time went on, I forgot what the game was like all together. So I picked it up, and holy shit, THE CAMERA! THE CAMERA! FUCK THE CAMERA!

I don't know what I was seeing when I was younger, but I do not remember the camera being this bad. It's been the reason why I died so many times. It randomly zooming out. It not turning properly, it completely zooming in too much or get stuck behind shit that I have no idea what I'm doing. It's because of this camera, why I'm understanding why so many people are hating the game. How could they fuck up the camera? IT'S SO EASY! Then again, even the level designs aren't all that good.

After I'm done these two, I'm going to borrow his Wind Waker game. I beat it once, and I remember the beginning being slower than molasses, but the game itself picking up a lot of pace and being one of the best Zelda games.

Anyways, just thought I'd share my thoughts on some games.

Luigi's Mansion. I approve.

On Mario Sunshine though, I have to say, I picked that up again for a little bit probably a couple years ago, and it is HARD. As a kid, I didn't really pay much attention to it, but completing areas usually requires you to do some very difficult stunts in succession which, as you pointed out, is not made any easier by the camera trying to predict what you're trying to do. If you're not a perfectionist though, there are enough easy sprites to get that it isn't a big issue.

Luigis mansion was awesome! Mario Sunshine was not. I did not enjoy it much because (exactly what I agree with ShadowSoldier) the camera.

and Pikmin is one of my goals to beat this year. Played a little bit of the 2nd one because of a friend, but after 10min of gameplay, i stopped myself to play the 1st one ...first. lol It got interesting. (Read book 1 before book 2 right?)

Hope you feel better Soldado de Sombra!

Sorry to hear about your ailment, Shadow. Hope you enjoy your GCN games. Borrow Viewtiful Joe, if you can. Or Metroid Prime. :)

I love Metroid Prime. My friend has that, so I might borrow that after. And he doesn't have viewtiful joe. Sadly only one of my friends has a GC, and that is him. He also doesn't have the best game collection. So after this, I guess I'm gonna have to maybe hack the GC so I can still play games.

If you lived near me I would loan you a bunch of GC games lol I picked up quite a few when the Wii first came out at the time you could pick up used GC games for next to nothing. I kid you not I walked out of GameStop with 5 GC games one time and I think I paid a total of 12 bucks. One of them was Star Wars Rogue Squadron III and that one is pretty cool.

On Mario Sunshine I loved that game.

I absolutely loved SMS although I will admit the no fludd levels are hard but they were undoubtedly supposed to be. In recent games the difficulty has all but diminished which is just sad.

Gamecube has some really enjoyable games and besides the ones already mentioned I'd also have to mention Star Fox Adventures which was a really nice platformer and sadly got a lot of crap from Star Fox fans because it was different but IMHO it made the SF games more enjoyable. It's not all that rare and it's pretty cheap too. If you want to sit on your ass all day then for RPG's I'd have to say Tales of Symphonia and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door which both take the top spot.

I'd like to try the Tales games, but like I said, other than going on eBay, these games are hard to find. And my friends copy of Paper Mario went missing so I doubt I can play that again.

One thing I'd like though is to get a wavebird so I don't have to sit so close to the TV.

Wavebirds go for about $25-30 on eBay with low shipping rates (at least to North America). I'd recommend one any time! I'm actually buying 3 more Wavebirds just for the sake of it even though I have a couple wired controllers already. Smash Bros with wireless... O___O

If you happen to find Beyond Good and Evil, it's a good game to spend time.

When I get money from EI, I'll go to the flea market, and try and get some games. I really don't want to have to resort to hacking the console. I like having a collection and I feel more inclined to play the games then.

All your opinions made me say: Yea, your right. But Sunshine? NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO, Camera is awesome, bro, no problems with it.

Can't tell if serious or not.

Also, if anybody is getting rid of any gamecube games or wants to donate me some games... I'll gladly take them off your hands.

I've come to the realization that when it comes to Pikmin, I hate the day thing. I don't mean the whole time of day thing, I mean the 30 day thing. I don't like it. But there are a few annoyances I keep running into with the game.

1. When I throw pikmin at an enemy, some of them will attack. I throw more and some just land right beside the enemy and don't do anything.

2. Jumping enemies like the frogs are annoying as shit. They kill waaaay too many pikmin while taking so much damage.

3. I hate when I'm trying to rush through a level to get caught up or get ahead, some of my pikmin will stop and start attacking a weed or something which forces me to go back and get them.

4. Why is that when I'm walking across a bridged area surrounded by water (I don't mean the actual bridges the Pikmin build), I can't bring them all with me, instead I have to take them in groups? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I don't know, but if I try to take all of them, everyone but the blue ones will fall into the water. Even when I try using the C-Stick to put them behind me, they still spread out so much that some are still bound to fall in.

5. When some of my pikmin get knocked on the ground and they lay there, and I whistle at them, they should come right away so they don't get hit. But they don't, it takes like 2 seconds for them to react, which lets the enemy kill them anyways.

I want to enjoy the game, I want to love it. It's so cute and charming, but these things are the reasons why it's preventing it from being on my "MUST GET IF YOU HAVE GAMECUBE!" list. Does Pikmin 2 do any better???

I'm not sure as I haven't really played Pikmin, but I do know 2 has no day limit anymore. You can take as long as you want for everything.
