I made some mods to an already hacked wii months ago, and in the process, it stopped behaving. USB Loaders of all variations just give me code dumps.

When I try to use ModMii to rebuild the console, I can only get as far as the load screen for HBC before it freezes. The whole "this is a free program" disclaimer pops up, but the remote gets disconnected, the "press A to continue" option never comes up, and I have to do a hard shut down.

Any ideas on how to just start from scratch? Or what might be causing the aforementioned errors? Thanks!

Are You able to launch MMM directly from any exploit?
Is bootmii working fine?

I have MMM on the memory card, but it's not actually showing up in the HBC. BootMii isn't installed - I don't think it existed when I first hacked the console (years and years ago); or it wasn't part of the guide at the time. Same with the NAND backup - wasn't part of the process back when I made all the initial hacks.

Download wiibrand launcher from here download link It is self explanatory, this will prep your sd card with the latest exploit and hackmii installer. Hopefully it wont freeze at the scam page.

try using ModMii's hackmii solutions wizard\guide

Mixed results here. Wizard used; installed BootMii as both IOS and boot2 according to the guide.

I added USB Loader GX to the card and used it to select my hard drive (it's a FAT32 partitioned drive), and I got an warning saying I was attempting to load a non-WBFS drive using 249 rev 18. So far, it seems to be functional, albeit with some GUI quirks. But is there a way that I can try to load the drive using 222 instead? I seem to remember reading that this was what supported non-WBFS partitions, but I can't find anything on it in the loader's menu.

EDIT: Well, games aren't loading. It seems them, it lets me start, and then it shunts me right back to the HBC menu. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks again!

Does it boot to boomii? if so you navigate via the power and reset button's on the console. Alternatively you can use a gamecube controller.

Sorry, I forgot to edit out the old info on that post.

Yes, I can boot the console.
Yes, I can start USB Loader GX and select a game.
However: it just kicks me back to the Homebrew Channel when I try to actually start a game.

Perfect! Installed 249/56 per the instructions, and games are starting right up now.

With all this mucking about, is there anything I should do now to "clean up" the system? Or just be happy that it works and leave it be?
set priiloader if you don't have bootmii@boot2
and make nand backup

Try PimpMyWii. It will auto-fix whatever broken, outdated, or missing IOS you have with fresh, updated versions. Requires Wi-Fi.
practical joke right ?

Ensure you have a NAND backup , install priiloader , use some of the priiloader hacks to block disc/online updates for example , and possibly run File cleanup from ModMii's menu "FC" will remove un needed files now your mod is complete.

Trust me guys, only dumbshits that don't know what they're doing, brick their Wiis. I've never had a problem patching my Wii this way. And of course I backup my nand first, AND have both BootMii and PriiLoader installed. This isn't my first rodeo, cowboy. My Wii is a launch System, and I've been tinkering with it ever since the Twilight Hack reared it's ugly face. Besides, I like that it's a Wii-dependent updater, where-as ModMii is dependent on a computer and the User to manually download everything. I really don't care for removing my SD card, getting a card reader, and manually updating everything. That's just a waste of my time.
