( lowercase ) disruptive messages, especially commercial messages posted on a computernetwork or sent as e-mail.

People are just discussing the topic, there's nothing disruptive here (except for this conversation). Let them discuss it and let the mods decide what's can and can't be discussed. You've been a member for only 4 months and you talk like you own the place. If you want to run things, apply to be a mod or GTFO and start your own forum.

I agree, loosen up Jiehfeng!

The reason this thread is not temporary locked is to prevent from others appearing.
Well what can I do, I can't stop spammers. But it's really fucking annoying.
The posts of people posting information is hard to find with all these opinion and spamming talk.

umm, this is not really the news site section but forum boards, where people discuss things when a topic is available
somebody tried to summarize the news, it's not the member's fault here that there's no sticky about it or something alike

You just said topic and discussion.
But you see, the discussion is not going according to the topic mostly.
Before another person comes out and says something, I'm done here. When it will be hack there will be an official hack thread.

Why not just take the news and updates as they come and edit them on to the first post in the thread?

One thing I don't understand... It seems many people don't like region locking, and many of these people are against piracy but want to unlock this region lock. Why don't you all unite and ask Nintendo to unlock the 3DS via a firmware update, then? It's better then wanting a hack and then criticizing it for enabling piracy or other stuff.

lol what do you think guys region lock its for? i think nintendo has nothing to say about region lock, its more a country and goberment thing, taxes and exports imports the market of the country and so on

Uhh... No. Have you ever seen a CD from Japan fail to play on a European CD player?

Well, the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS were all region free. Nintendo can decide if their console is unlocked or not. I bet if enough people united to ask to unlock the 3DS region there could be some negotiation. It's a better solution than expecting some hackers to do it. They most certainly are not hacking a complex system just for region locking and besides the hack might not be avaible to everybody. I just get impressed of how lazy people are, they want something and no one even consider trying something themselves.

I am thinking of picking up a 3dsxl in spite of the news. I am pretty confident we will get the hack soon also I doubt the price for the 3dsxl bundle with mario cart 7 is gonna get lower than $200 anytime soon either.

What do you guys think?

I don't think they could remove it now if they wanted to. I'm sure the region coding is written into the contracts of third party publishers.

And they would need to patch every single game that have online features to make them access the correct region features (add US/EUR online to JAP game for example), not likely to happen.

The best they could do is:
Before: Games released before region lock removal firmware: still region locked.
After, Worst scenario: Games released after region lock removal firmware: the editor can decide if they puts (or not) region lock, knowing what happened with the sega genesis, they will.
After, Best scenario: Games released after region lock removal firmware: no region lock, games comes with functional online for every region.

Do you guys think we will need to buy flashcarts for the hack or it can be done from SD card? It seems like flashcarts will cause problems if nintendo totally blocks them in a new patch. I think running a software hack from a SD card would be a more viable option rather then buying flashcarts and hoping they will not be blocked.

Whilst arguably, we might end up seeing some sort of Flashcart that boots up the same way the CycloDS iEvolution did in DSi Mode...if it is indeed as easy for Nintendo to fix as Neimod has been saying, they wouldn't bother releasing such a product.

But given the nature of the 3DS, being loaded with an SD card slot, having upgradeable firmware and functioning similarly to the Wii in many respects, it seems far less likely that any flashcart would be necessary.

The day Nintendo negotiates with gamers on disabling region locking is the day hell freezes over; it ain't gonna happen, especially under the pretense that using region locking "helps control" sales in a specified region, which we all know to be bulls**t. Region locking is to get back at those who hacked their Wii console, that's why Nintendo did it.

Nintendo isn't using region locking to punish those who hacked there wii. Nintendo is just extremely narrow minded and only thinks of the profits obtained using region locking.

Still a douche thing to do, their other handhelds weren't region locked, but then they do this....simply amazing.

I think most of the problems comes down to japan being what it is. People see japan as some heavenly country where everything is high tech and everyone is amazing, accepting and nice but is not. There is a reason it takes more than a year to localize games and why japanese companies seem like they are so behind on everything. The country is technologically terrible and run by 60 year olds that won't die, the govt is full of corruption. Thats one of the reasons companies seem very inept, they fail to see potential in western markets with almost 90% of really good games never coming out in the west.

problem is how do we make CFW? ...wait i have an idea set up a special DNS server decrypt the ofw insert data for a cfw then download it off your DNS server similar to DLing from nintendo's
