Do you have channel emulation set to partial or full. If full, then my guess is your Wii is set to 480i in your emunand dump. Try partial and check if you get 480p.

Ah, that's probably it, thank you! I only changed my Wii from 480i recently, so it's probably getting that setting from the emunand dump I created a few months ago. I'll test it later, but I'd imagine you've correctly figured out the problem.

To fix this, just go to USB Loader GX's settings menu and select "dump sysconf to emunand". This should update your settings to match the real nand.

the DIOS MIOS (Lite) version is hardcoded. It's not the best thing to do as it require an update of the loader each time there's an update of DM, but the version number of DM is not always correctly updated in the file specifically designed to hld the version number. (when you install the Wad, there are two files inside: the program itself and a text file with the MIOS version. That file is sometime not updated).

At the time of r1203, only DM2.3 existed, so you should have "2.3+" meaning it's either 2.3 or newer.
If you update to r1205, you'll have DM detected up to 2.6.1 and DML 2.6

About WiiWare, There are two way to launch them:
Real NAND : Listing the channels you have on your Wii, but not a lot of spaces available. (no access to SD)
Emu NAND : I don't know if the IOS base is important for the NAND emulation, I always used base56 myself. 38 is usually a pretty good base for games/channels.

The internal Wad manager to install channels to emuNAND has a problem past 3.0, I still haven't look into it. (we removed the ability to install to realNAND, could be linked to the problem)
Please use wiiBackupManager ShowMiiWads to add channels to emuNAND (or try with your base38, but it shouldn't matter as it's only extracting files to FAT32, not using any ES_ functions).

Hey cyan updated to 1205 and see the "2.6.1 +" you were talking about. As for wiiware I updated to ios 249(56) d2x v8 final and ios 250(57) d2x v8 final. I try loading bomberman blast with either of those two ios' and it just blackscreens. I was using uloader so I just pointed GX to that nand folder. I assume since it sees the games it should work unless that particular game is a problem game. I'm hoping gx can replace uloader as it's ugly as hell. :) With uloader I can select ios 224 and the game works but with gx I'm only allowed to use d2x cIOS'.

Hermes cIOS is compatible with emulatedNAND?
if it does, I really forgot about it.

I'll send you a test build with rev17/18-21 support for EmuNAND.
Attention, if you install rev17 with the cIOS rev17 installer it will replace your slot249 AND 250 automatically.

1205 is the latest I released for end users
1207 has GameCube disc2 detection/installation features but I released them for beta testers, to check if everything was working fine. I'm still waiting for their results. of course, end users can download it too without reporting issue but I would prefer if people did. the more report I get, the sooner there will be an official release updatable from the loader!

Some users tell me their report and suggestion :)
Thank you to them.

I have downloaded 1207 and will be updating my DM to 2.6 shortly. Finally the holiday (work) crunch is over and I'll have some gaming time. :D
I'll let you know as soon as I can. I only have a few 2-disc games though: RE4, MGS, and Tales of Symphonia.

maybe your device has a problem.

It's still working fine on the computer?
Could you try to format it? (backup your data first)

You didn't change the cIOS recently?
Before formating, you can try the new cIOS v10 (normal version, not the alternative version) it had better HDD detection.

So I tried using the test build cyan sent me for loading Wanin cios for wiiware. I was unsuccessful so I went back to UBLGX 3.0 to dump my nand again. I also installed bomberman blast to the emunand. Tried with 249 and 250 d2x v10 and it reboots my wii. So I thought, ok, I can try rev 17 and 21 (can't seem to find r18 anywhere, modmii doesn't have it). So I used ShowMiiWads to install more games onto my emunand. I also installed ios 247(53) d2xv10 and 248(55) d2xv10 to see if they would work. Tried 247-250 and no luck, except this time when I tried 249/250 it just blackscreened instead of rebooting the wii so this has me thinking, Does GX work for wiiware games installed with showmiiwads? Do I need to install the wads within gx itself? Granted I guess I should have switched builds to test with the mod cyan gave me when I had bomberman installed. When I used showmiiwads I deleted bomberman and reinstalled it when I installed the rest of my games. So I guess what I'm basically asking is if the wads HAVE to be installed using GX 3.0 or is using showmiiwads ok? I had also tried r17 and r21 with no luck.

Are other WiiWare (not bomberman) working fine with d2x v8, emuNAND set to Full, correct and fully dumped NAND?

Until now, you didn't tell me any hint to understand if the problem was the game or your setup.

I tried installing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (PAL):

With GX r1207:
Disc 1 was installed and renamed correctly in my USB drive: usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/game.iso
Disc 2 gave the following error message: "Can't open file for write: usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/disc2.iso

So then I deleted disc 1 installation and tried installing disc 2 first:
Disc 2 was installed and renamed properly in my USB drive: usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/disc2.iso
Disc 1 gave the same error message: "Can't open file for write: usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/game.iso

With GX r1207 Mod 1:
Both discs are installed and renamed properly:
usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/game.iso and usb1:/games/"gamename [gameID]"/disc2.iso

*After doing all that, I launched the game but it is not working with Dios Mios. I tried all the video options combinations with GX and DM Booter and I got either a green or black screen.

Oops... I didn't realize that... Anyways, r1207 Mod 1 is doing its job.
Apart from that, are force video mode and aspect ratio options working for Wii games? I tried forcing Mario Party 8 to PAL60, 480p, NTSC, etc., but it is always displayed at 576i.

I know it doesn't work for channels, but It should work for Wii games.
The Force aspect Ration was even added especially for Mario Party 8, to hide those still pictures side bars.

I changed the video mode recently to support DIOS MIOS, but I reverted the changes. maybe there are still errors, video mode is a bad thing to set.
Could you try older version/revision to tell me if it works? v3.0 should work fine with the video patches and force ratio patches.
