I'm embarrassed and honestly a little upset. I couldn't submit my entry in time due to the lineart and the coloring... (still couldn't finish it, so it looks sloppy) Oh well. Can't be helped. I want to at least share my entry with you guys.

Masakran. A bird kite pokemon. (I cannot provide a 3D model, but the pokemon is very flat, like a kite) Strings keep it's wings and tail in position from behind.

It is based upon the Hindu holiday, Makar Sakranti, which takes place during Winter Solstice every year. (the specific day moves around due to earth's position as a celestial object) The holiday is a celebration of harvest and the end of reincarnation in the Hindu religion. During Sakranti, Hindi believers celebrate by feasting. Indian children love to celebrate especially by flying homemade (or storebought) kites. The holiday is also a day of prayer, and the goddess Sarasvati is praised during this day.

Name: Masakran (Makasan, まかさん)
Species: Reincarnation Pokemon
Pokedex Entry #1: During the kite-flying festival every year, those who see a Masakran amongst the many flying kites are given good luck for the new year.
Pokedex Entry #2: Since ancient times, the Masakran has been known as a symbol of new life. It's image is seen on the doors of maternity wards.

Well, an honorable mention is nice at least. I thought it was going to be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd kind of situation, not a winner takes all. That part wasn't too clear. Still, great job and glad I got to participate.
