My monitor only has DVI and VGA, so I want an HDMI to DVI converter to hook up my Wii U. Problem is, that takes away audio. Is there anything that'll split the HDMI's audio and video signal so I can plug my Wii U into my Monitor and still have sound?

There are cheap solutions for about $30 that will give you stereo audio from your HDMI cable, and there are more expensive ones that can give you 6 channel analog out for surround sound. (These are about $150-200). Take a look on Amazon or other sites for HDMI to RCA adapters and I'm sure you'll find quite a few out there.

$500 is a ripoff for what you're looking for, hell my Atlona HD-570 was only $180 and it supports decoding 6 channel PCM to analog outputs. Here's some more reasonably priced alternatives:

And the one that I went with (Because it can handle 6 channel PCM out to analog):

Can you not plug in the standard RCA into the Wii U along with the HDMI and use one for audio and one for sound, PS3 can do this.

Yeah I found out you can't use the RCA cables with HDMI, so i'm either getting a new monitor or that $30 converter box thing. But that'll have to wait a few weeks :/

It's digital sound, so there's the issue. It'll cost a lot for a converter as two posters have linked above.

You could use a Wii component cable to get both hd and stereo sound, and one of these: http://www.optimization-world.com/img/prod/dvi_male_to_component_female.jpg

(The audio would connect to something else, like your speakers or if your monitor has a 3.5mm jack you could use a splitter to join the left and right plugs into the one.
