I am wanting to get a playstation mobile console. I was originally going to by a psp e1000 (live in uk and only sell that model) for £85 then get a 32gb card and use CFW to run psp and ps1 games.
But I could instead get a vita for £200 vith a memory card and buy the psp/ps1 games from psn. But not all psp/ps1 games are avilable and some are insanly over price even some i already own. And there no ps vita games I want aside from persona 4 and FFX HD (but i have a ps3 so that one is fine) Another big pro for the vita is the screen and how it makes psp games look even better.
Off course vitas the more expensive option but every one I ask says get the vita. Just wanting some gamer imput and opinions.

If you want pirate and play with homebrew than get the PSP. And don't get teh e1000, its a tad shit. And you don't need a 32GB card. That's overkill.

If you want to play Vita games than get a Vita. The improved PSP playback looks nice but it is a tad limited regarding offical compatibility.

PSP baby. Enjoy the amazing PSP games, best GBA and SNES emulator on a handheld. Oh a lot of PSX games for you too! ;) It pisses over the Vita, no need to play cat and mouse with Sony like Vita is facing right now.

Get the Vita when it's fully hacked and mostly likely cheaper by then.

Out of the listed ones, 3000. Forget the E-1000 - it's a paperweight with no Wi-Fi, mono sound and poor build quality. Go is an acquired taste and its only advantage is the built-in storage. With adapters available and low prices of SD and MSPD memory, the 3000 tops all of the other choices except for early 2000 models, but even that's debatable.

I recommend a 32 gig micro-SD card and one of the micro-SD to Memory Stick Pro Duo adapters--the 32 gig cards are about $20 online now and you can get the adapters for a couple dollars with free shipping. That's about $25 for all the storage you'd ever need for the PSP.

Psp go new is £191
Psp e1000 new is £85
Amazon.co.uk prices
PSP Phat is £60-65
E1000 is £65-68
2000 is £65-70
PSP Go is £70-75
3000 is £75-80.
Average street prices (second hand, good condition).

EDIT: Also, I've been using an 8GB SanDisk MSPD for hacking and a mSD adaptor (with 32GB Samsung Class 10 mSD) for games.

I don't recommend the adapters because they can cause issues. We've seen multiple people in here that were unable to hack the PSP, run certain homebrew, or even run certain games until they tried a real memory stick.
Hacking the PSP? Yes. Numerous adapters do not support IPL for some reason, effectively making MMS creation impossible. The rest is a matter of whether or not the adapter is genuine and whether or not the SD's are proper or not. Fair enough, it's a hit-and-miss, but you get what you pay for.

From personal experience I bought two adapters - one had no issues whatsoever, the other is incapable of booting POPS Loader when in dual-SD mode and doesn't support writting an IPL to it. That's it - no other issues... so... a 50/50 rate so-far. :P

Yeah, but people in general are only going to get one memory stick/solution, so I'd rather suggest the 100% rate (minus the rare physical defect which applies to both options of course).
Oh yes - as long as one can afford a big MSPD, by all means, choose the MSPD! :)

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
