So I finally got my mini-SD adapter in the mail today, I have had a heck of a time getting everything I need together for my EZ-Flash IV. I have the Phat version, and I've been at square one for about four hours now: trying to get the kernel to update.

I Formatted my miniSD to FAT, and I've put nothing on the SD aside from the ezfla_up.bin file, and I've tried two different downloads of the kernel, and am having difficulty finding others with working links. Both have been in seemingly successful tutorials for getting started with the cartridge.

I put the miniSD into the GBA Flash IV Cartridge, put the cartridge into my gameboy, hold R, turn it on, and it directly goes to a page that says "TIP: Hold L to skip savin" With Luke Skywalker lightsaberin' in the background(I've already changed it from chinese to english), then quickly goes to the main directory with Darth Vader in the background and such. I've tried this many times in the last four hours.

I'm having difficulty finding people with a similar problem on the internet, I found one after a lot of searching and he had a second problem that everyone seemed more concerned with and nobody did anything but repeat simple directions for getting the kernel to update, and when he solved it he just kindof said "Okay I figured it out" and left no useful information.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Perhaps your GBA's R button is broken?

It isn't, I meant to mention that the R button works fine in the main topic. I've tested it with another game, the R button responds just fine.
Hmm, so you're copying the ezfla_up.bin file to the SD card right? and as it is booting up, holding the R button? I mean immediately as the console is flipped on.

Yep, directly onto it, no doubts about problems in where the file is. I've tried holding the R button before turning it on, holding it and turning it on simultaneously and holding it immediately after turning it on.

Other information: The mini SD card is an ATP pro max 2gb, I know other people have used them successfully but don't know if there might be a problem regarding it's brand.

Huh, veery strage problem we have on hand.
OK, first off check if it's the files straight from here- http://ezflash.sosuk...m/about793.html I got mine running from the files from there.
Second, see if the SD is formatted to FAT32
Third.... well... see if you can get another miniSD, as I honestly don't know what could be wrong, Maybe it's already updated? I think this may be it.
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems that it'll update even if it is fully updated already.
EDIT2: Bah, seems like filetrip.net is down for now... i guess you have to wait for it to be back online.

Thanks a bunch, the file worked! I have no idea why the other two didn't, they had the same name and everything(Downloaded as (3)).

Also, on that page, the latest kernel link doesn't seem to be working, but it's only updated for looks like three obscure games. That's what scared me off from the page in the first place, however, the second kernel is the one that's in all of the other tutorials anyway.

Guess I'll go for better sources from now on, thank you!

Hehe, no problem. Filetrp usually hosts the most trusted files, so it's very reliable.
On a side note, can you give me the links on the previous files, just for fun?
