Like when it comes to ARPG style loot based games, there's "Bethesda-style" where you hoard only things of worth (usually low weight-high reward items), dungeon crawler-style where you hoard everything and sell everything, and Monster Hunter style where you only get and hoard materials. It's the last.

But it's open world, more varied, superior combat, and it's actually fun.

Except it's an RPG, which Monster Hunter isn't. Aside from being able to grab onto large enemies, the combat doesn't have a hell of a lot over Monster Hunter (I can't remember if you can weapon bounce in DD, but I don't think so).

Open world? Eh, they sort of tried that in Tri but it didn't work out too well. I can't fault the good titles for not having an open world (Unite, P3rd) since they were portable games. I don't know which ones you've played, but if you've just played the Nintendo ones, you've played the worst.

They are very different games, just because you kill enemies and collect items doesn't make them the same at all; Not every game is the same as Mario.

I know, I have one. Tri is still a shitty Monster Hunter game though.

Oh and you still need to use the Wiimote for certain things. And you still need to make sure the wiimote has batteries because fuck plugging a controller directly into the console to get power, let's make it drain the same batteries our motion controllers drain because we didn't just use internal rechargable batteries to begin with.
