Seriously, have you ever played a online multiplayer game?
Other players just piss the hell out of me.
I was playing MapleStory a few minutes ago, and they keep showing off saying things like "omg i feel so excited advancing my job and getting to level 150!!!". Annoyed, I told them to get a life, they whisper me, and they start spamming me. Obviously I didn't feel bad, cause I know that people like that, seriously need to get out more, and need to learn things.

What are some experiences you guys had?
I've had more than one experience, but I prefer sharing the matter, in a bit.

Don't tell them to get a life, video games can be a very good escape from a shitty reality. In general I know what you mean, but people do shit like that all the time.

Lol true, but the more you mute, the more annoying fuckers come. Seriously. These are one of the reasons why I mute everyone when a new match starts. But as you know, some leave, and some other idiots come in. -.-

I'll admit it's been a couple years since I've played any public matches of...anything online, but I assume nothing has changed with the little kids.

I only play online games in hacked matched with friends or on private matches with friends.
And guess what??
It's not even COD but older games that I play online.

Only online game I have played is either with friends or is Phantasy Star Online 2.
And PSO2 is fucking beautiful with (so far) a kickass community* :V

I play without a headset (when not playing with friends) and have had no problems.

My rule of thumb is if one person is yelling loud enough for me to hear, the verbal sludge is entertaining enough (whether it's people crying or freaking out in rage) to keep on listening.

I pretty much avoid playing online games, except on 3DS, partially because of all these reasons. lol. I prefer playing and laughing together with friends actually in the room, anyway.

I think we need to evolve further beyond that "arena and forget" model as I call it. Where you're tossed into a fixed battleground space, with little sense of character development or narrative relevance, then any events disappear from the game world afterward as if they never occurred. Stat tracking and/or RPG elements of almost any kind help.

I haven't played PSO2 since... well, the open beta. I've heard that Ship 2 Blocks 20 & 21 have massive trolling despite (or perhaps because of?) them being the primary English servers. Has that significantly changed or is that akin to your... tastes?
