After all, they are making a circle pad pro add-on for the 3ds xl, although then it will really be massive...

Lemme bring this up real quick.
Psp 1000 - 1 circle pad
Psp 2000 - 1 circle pad
Psp 3000 - 1 circle pad
Psp Go - 1 circle pad
All revisions of the psp model, never revised to include a second circle pad.
Then the vita, the sucessor, gained 2 analogue sticks.
I dont believe we will ever see a 3DS REVISION with two circle pads. Eerpow explained pretty nicely somewhere, that nintendo even stated they wouldnt be adding a second circle pad to the 3DS. If we do see 3DS revisions in the future, I highly doubt its going to be the circle pad revision most of yall hope for.

DSi was really a revision. Cameras, Actual OS Menu, WPA2 WiFi and a Store.

3DS LL/XL is more of an alternative than a revision, just like the DSi XL. The only massive thing about it is the 90% bigger screens and slight improvement in battery. Other than that, it functions exactly the same as the 3DS and has the same OS/games.
The DSi was actually a successor in my honest opinion - faster clock, more memory, new firmware, different wireless module, DSi Store, DSi-Only games, DSiWare, new DSP to control the new hardware, SD slot - there's quite a lot that changed. The DSi really only plays DS games because it has DS Mode coded into the firmware - it's a compatibility layer. Calling the DSi "just a revision" is like calling the Wii a "slim Gamecube".

3DS XL/LL on the other hand is a clear revision - it's more or less the same hardware with the same functionality in a new form-factor. It doesn't bring more features, it's just bigger and improved. The situation was exactly the same with the DSi and DSi XL/LL. :)

That said, I would not be so quick to dismiss a revision of the hardware that will introduce a second analog stick/slider. There will be a time when it might become a standard to use two when the CirclePadPro becomes popular and the separation of the two will become a nuisance. Everything depends on fan demand, really. I can see it happening in the future, just like it happened with the WiiMote and the WiiMotion+ attachment. Integration is good and I don't see why people should whine about it if *they* chose to be early adopters. Besides, they can buy a CirclepadPro at any time, so practically they didn't "lose" anything.

They definitely won't make another model with a second analog built in.

They're saving it for the next generation of handhelds. As of right now, I don't see what they're going to add to the next generation. It was obvious pretty obvious what they were going to add from the DS's to the 3DS (minus the 3D screen).

I could never see a ton of games using the Circle Pad Pro, so there's not really a point of making another model just for those games. I can see them adding a second analog when they redo the whole system and it plays it's own games.

Also, people tend to forget about the two triggers the Circle Pad Pro adds. If they add a second analog, they're adding triggers with it.

I guess its possible, but other then better battery and new features, like how the PSP 1-3000 never had bluetooth but the GO does, or the new slide design. But there will be no 2nd pad. Like I have said too many times, Nintendo does not give a fuck about the CPP, they STILL have not addressed the lack of a second pad as a mistake in anyway, ONE game they have made uses it, and it only uses it for left handed controls which I think was purposely, it would cut the userbase in half meaning anyone without a new 3DS would be screwed and have to buy a CPP. It was built to make Capcom put a MH game on the 3DS. End of the goddamn story. Anyone who wants to argue that be in for a trolling.

PSP didn't have a CPP so your argument is invalid

How does that make it invalid in the slightest?
I don't even see how the CPP actually fits into this situation.

Why would Sony release a PSP with 2 analog sticks
if there were no games that used a 2nd analog stick?

Sony's PSP has been criticized for the lack of a second analog "nub" to accompany the left-hand one,[2] a criticism that was later also leveled at Nintendo's 3DS. Nintendo has since released an add-on for the 3DS that adds, among other things, a second analog "circle pad". The follow-up to the PSP, the PlayStation Vita features dual analog sticks.

Monster Hunter is often criticized on the PSP for its lack of a second analog stick which prevents you from moving the camera while moving

Most game’s on the PSP suffered due to finicky controls and poor camera angles due to the lack of a second analogue stick

The only reason thats true, is because games made for the psp were forced to be made without 2nd analogue control, because it wasn't there in the first place, and it was criticized because of it.
The difference here, is nintendo did something about it. Otherwise, it would be in the same boat as the psp...

Some people wanted a 2nd analog within a revised PSP.
But since Sony didn't create a CPP or anything similar developers adapted to what they had.

With the creation of CPP, some developers started using it.
Now people demand for a 2nd analog on a revised PSP because there are games that take advantage of this.
Games like Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Monster Hunter and Kid Icarus, and probably a lot more over the time.

This is the huge difference.
If it weren't for the CPP people woudn't ask for a 2nd analog on a 3DS revision or 3DS XL just as you said.

Ahhhh I see where your coming from now. Yes I can totally agree with you from that standpoint, when you first brought it up it just confused me as to where it applied.
Either way, weather we see a future revision with a second circle pad is questionable. Like i stated the reason I brought up the psp models is that even though people wanted a second nub, the revision for a second one was never made.
But coming from what you said, and with their being a cpp, and the option for a second circle pad is in a peripheral, i dont think nintendo would feel obligated to create a 3ds with a second circle pad. They may view it as just a preference, and not needed for gameplay.
I for one, enjoy stylus controlled aiming. Flicking to targets is much easier with a stylus then having to perform a full turnaround using the circlepad. Unless of course they put sensitivity options in game to change how fast you turn, like they do in most fps games on consoles.

You know, Nintendo already contradicted itself a couple of times.
They said to be against dlc, demos and digital distribution,
but with the public pressure they started supporting it.

Having a 2nd analog could be a huge selling point for a 3DS revision.
And if we consider how big is 3DS XL it's complicated to make a CPP and make it not too big.

I think over 2 years we will see a 3DS and a 3DS XL within a 2nd analog.

But I don't bother with it.
I'm happy with just one analog

Yes it IS possible, look what Nintendo did to the old DS series.

DS+DS Lite no cam and extra things
DSi+DSi Xl Cam+ extra memory+DSi Ware

I see a possibility since Capcom, Konami and SE also offered options to use the CPP and also without using it.

Just for comparison

A normal video game joystick has standard buttons and two analog sticks

The DS has buttons + touch screen + microphone
The PSP has buttons + 1 analog + microphone
The 3DS has buttons + touch screen + 1 circle pad + gyroscopes + cameras + microphone
The PS Vita has buttons + touch screen + touchpad + 2 analogs + gyroscopes + cameras + microphone

As you can see the 3DS and Vita has a greater variety of input than a regular video game controller, why can't people just be happy with what they have?
I don't think it is worth it to add a 2nd analog on the 3ds, it would make the 3ds bigger, more uncomfortable and few games use it anyway. People who absolutely need a 2nd analog should just buy a cpp, there's not much else to do...

Probably two or three years later it will be possible to add a 2nd analog, make batery bigger,
better screens, better cameras, with a similar price, similar size and similar weight.

Just look the huge difference from DS Phat to DSi

Without including two extra shoulder buttons for full CPP integration, a revision with a 2nd analog slider would be illogical.

They could use backtouch for R2 and L2 just as Vita.

It's impossible for a handleheld to have 2nd Trigger Buttons,
it demands too much space

Ugh, wouldn't the system become fat as hell if there were extra shoulder buttons?

Remember the Wii Classic Controller? Not the Classic Controller Pro, but the original one. That one included 2 shoulder buttons, and it was still quite thin, because the 2nd pair were inward, rather than beneath the 1st pair of shoulder buttons. Perhaps they could take all the extra stuff at the "top" end of the 3DS (charging port, etc) and move it to the "bottom end" (where the headphone jack is), then they would have room for the second pair of shoulder buttons? Just an idea.

This looks a bit uncomfortable, is it really good?
