So about a year ago now I created GBAtemp's own SpeedWave page on speedtest.net This allows people to perform a speed test and submit their result to a database, comparing your speeds to other's and contributing to overall community statistics.

Yesterday we just passed 1000 speed tests and can now see some interesting data about GBAtemp's internet speeds.

Together, over the past year, by clicking the link in my signature we as a community have wasted 27.92GB of data, 6 hours and 700 individual's time testing our internet speeds - feel proud!

Some more interesting data has also emerged from this SpeedWave that has never (to my knowledge) been collected about the temp before:
  • The temp's most used browser is Firefox
  • Nearly 6% of people use Comcast for their ISP
  • Out of all major cities tested from, tempers are most prominent in the city of London.
  • The average speed of 17.84 Mb/s also suggests that on average, most users on the temp have access to fibre optic internet.

Idk if mines went to gba temp speed wave, so I'll just post it here.
Edit: Nvm I got it working :).

Planning on upping my speed to 60Mbps, 'tis only an extra £5 a month ^_^

Woof. I always knew my internet was slow but dear goodness. I mean i am on DSL, but its in the country. Friggin Windstream ISP.

hmm interesting, i am still surprised a lot of users are using firefox, i am surprised about most users being from london as this is a global site, don't know about the average user having speeds like that, the uk has one of the worst internet speeds in europe, and i am stuck on adsl too so i get below average speeds.

Yeah, to be honest though I did kinda take it out of context. If you think about it, though most users are from the USA, it's a big place and are well distributed across it. Also, in the UK, London will be the default server for users to test against, meaning most UK users will bump up that London percentage.

Edit: You can check all the statistics by clicking 'More wave stats' on the link.

From my work computer, it should suit GBAtemp's wave considering I am on GBAtemp most of my time at work ;)

:( My internet is broken. All of my tests in the wave are either because of connection problems, or were taken before I upgraded to a 50Mbps connection.
