I have devolution loader in sd/apps/gcdevo
But I noticed I cannot select game.iso (usb) and save my memcard.bin and .dvv on sd.
(If .iso on usb then new folder apps/gcdevo is created on usb)

I really hope that future official devolution loader allows sd/usb for data when loading games on sd/usb or any combination.

Well, if it corrupts hard drives, I probably shouldn't use it, right? I don't want to have to re-rip my games again.
*facepalm* I meant that it happened to my SD card because of a DIFFERENT APP, not Devo.
So, Devolution DOESN'T adversely affect hard drives?
It did to 2 people, so you can't say that.
Apparently only happened to Shano56. Remember not touch the SD/USB when Devo writing data to it (.dvv, memcard.bin.)
Do whatever you want.

Once again moral AP related discussions can perhaps best be direct at the thread in backup launcher section.

Just had a blast playing Crazy Taxi with some friends ... I was able to finish Crazy Box within well perhaps an hour or so.
Then we started playing arcade ... just for fun I let them go first to raise the bar ;) One friend did not to that bad with around 7k .,.. till I started playing and got 12,5k ... and I must say im rusty as hell :P and they where like ... you have jedi reflexes... ahh the noobs of the gaming world how I love them :P

Wonderfull experience brought to me through Devolution.

Also tried to restart The Twilight Princess (GC one) on both Devolution and Dios Mios ... but both seemed to not want to start with a fresh game (cutscene seemed to give trouble I guess) so I played a bit from disc till I could save.
After that tried both Devolution and Dios Mios .. .Devo has some gfx issues and going from one village to another seems problematic. Dios Mios did not seem to have that same issue. (Sorry dont have any clearer info on that)

Once again, Devolution's AP is not able to verify a clean, genuine, disc. This time it is XGIII: Extreme G Racing. While Rogue Leader shows five quick flashes when the disc is inserted, then hard locks the Wii, XGIII: Extreme G Racing does not flash the drive LED after reading the disc. It just locks up the Wii.....

I just deleted a page of comments.

This is not the place to discuss the Anti Piracy feature, even if it's to defend it it's only leading to unnecessary debate.
he asked in the first post that users keep this thread on topic.

Every App/Program/System that writes data to hard drives can currupt the file system.

Well, I've used programs on my USB hard drive for over a year and never encountered file corruption. I thought this particular program was more likely to cause the issue.

Why should it? It works exactly the same as every other one.

Not sure about that... when it validates the disc it is doing things that other programs definitely do not do - reading the GC disc/making some sort of security hash/writing to the hard drive - and only one person knows exactly what that is and how much risk it entails.

Therein lies the issue; I don't want to spend 20 million years backing up and restoring data after having to buy a new hard drive. Granted, it's a good idea to make a backup regardless, but it's a real pain having to wait for the copying, pasting, etc.

That's irrelevant, the important thing is the write of the files, It is as dangerous/safe as any other app.
