Now that I think about it it could possibly be used in place of a keyboard for an mmo, like wow or whatever. I could see it working as long as it had tactile feedback (wouldn't be as accurate as a keyboard but it could get close with practice)
If it were capacitive, maybe. On a resistive screen, not so much. You could type with a stylus, but it's such a pain to make sure you're pressing all the keys down while typing fast enough. >.

Don't forget the screen with only 6 inches, so there is no way in hell that you will be able to type accurately with both hands. A 10 inch touchscreen is about the limit for most people, maybe a little less for people with relatively small hands, but at 6 inches you are thumb typing which is not nearly accurate nor fast enough to play an mmorpg

Miiverse will make it possible to write by hand instead of typing, kinda like a live swapnote.
What's faster for you comes down to personal preference. Though handwriting gives messages and chats more flavor, besides writing on a touchscreen is easier than typing on one.

If you think that then clearly you don't own a smartphone. When you hold a smartphone vertically the screen width is less than 2 inches. I can type at probably around half my typing speed (9-10 characters/second) on my smartphone (albeit probably making 4x as many mistakes, which reduces the typing speed more, but that's still like going to mean at least 2 characters a second). On a 6 inch screen it'd be ridiculously easy to type fast. Have you never used a tablet keyboard?

Considering I've owned about 12 android devices since the os began a few years ago, I would think I have quite a grasp over how the hardware works, as a matter of fact I browse this site on my transformer prime and have a galaxy nexus as my primary phone, and I can't type nearly as fast on the touchscreen as I can on the keyboard (about 140-160 wpm and yes I know you don't believe me and I really don't care), on the phone I can only manage about 60-80 while making mistakes which is considerably slower. What I was talking about is the ability to play an mmorpg on the touchscreen as a keyboard. I am of the belief that this would be rather awkward
