if anyone truly believes there will be another wii system update there in denial wii will be on 4.3 for a while now the only update that will happen is with dragon quest 10 and thats just to install the IOS that the game has but the system menu itself will stay 4.3

A feature that I'm sure will be removed from 4.4 for that very reason if Nintendo ever decides to release another firmware update.

You mean removing features which may be exploited rather than fix the bugs in their software while leaving the features as they were for all the people that were not 'abusing' them? This is nintendo we're talking about, not sony.
To be fair. That's pretty much what 4.3 was...
Not entirely true, IOS 58 came along with it as well. I've read a lot here and there and there were some other additional small benefits but I'm sure someone more qualified with a better understanding can break it down.

I have faith in Nintendo in making the Wii scene more interesting again by providing a new anti-homebrew system update :P
I still remember the times where people were forced to wait for a new hackmii installer and a new exploit because they moved their homebrew channel to the SD card and couldn't move it back anymore. Fun times :D

I'm sure now I'm really getting off topic, but now that you mention the new IOS, couldn't that make Dragon Quest 10 really difficult to run from USB?

yea seeing as you need to disk to install the game to the included flash drive then you need to install the dragon quest 10 channel to launch the game dont expect to be able to pirate the game lol

kinda like Skylanders needing the USB dongle to work. Besides the scheme of forcing you to buy the toys to get all the characters it also works as the ultimate anti-piracy method. I would think there would be some ocarina cheat or something to make it not need the dongle, though.

One way or another, I guess if you own the game, installing everything to neek could allow USB loading as long as the flash drive doesn't interfere with the other USB drive but if you don't own it and therefore don't own the drive, you might be in problems.

people tried to make ocarina codes for skylanders but everytime they poped up activision hit them witha cease and desist letter forcing them to remove them plus the tech it the portal would be very hard to emulate with a cheat code people tried and it never worked.

Even if people find a way to extract the files from the included flash drive and put them on there own hdd doesnt mean it will work as for all we know the flash drive is formated to something special and the game only loads the files from that specific format or driver. Also i see it being like FFXI on the ps2 the game came with a hdd for your ps2 then al lthe disk was used for was to install the files to the hdd then you never needed the disk ever again but with dragon quest 10 the disk is used to install the game to the flash drive then you have to launch the game from a channel on the wii system menu. then of course the game is online only and you have to pay a fee to play it there in lies the real anti piracy or the game cause if its anything like ff11 and 14 it will be about $12-15 a month lol

That's why you can usually download MMO games for free. They make the money when you connect.

this is Square-enix we are talking about here there gonna charge you 50-60 for the game (maybe more the ps2 version off ffxi was clsoe to 100 cause of the damn hdd) and make you pay the fee to play online to max out profit

What feature was removed from 4.3 exactly?

Anyone need a 8GB SD card?

I too have a 8GB SD card that I don't use anymore after I bought a 32GB one!

Actually I also bought a 8GB Micro SD card very very cheap the other day, they were having sales on the mall, I bought it cheaper than a flash drive with the same capacity and I was in need of a new flash drive so I bought it to use it instead and it's working fine =p

, I ripped it myself and I have not had a single issue, and I probably have a lot crappier of a drive than most others here.
Obviously if I don't personally experience a particular bug or quirk, it must not exist...

I refuse catagorically to pay upfront AND monthly. If a game is good enough I'll happily pay $50-60 if I can play it freely from then on. (If it has an offline mode and an optional fee based online mode, thats ok, but i'd opt out.) I might consider paying monthly for a free to DL game but it would have to be spectacular. But I wil NEVER pay for the game that I cannot play without paying an additional recurring fee.

Well, that is not the case for you, but it certainly is the case for me :P

Waninkoko was the one who stopped development of the Wii ( / GameCube?) disc loader because its beta was leaked.

As for that Activision game, http://www.gscentral.org/codelist.php?sys=50&dev=83&game=12869027
