Nintendo E3 2012 coverage details

Nintendo issued a press release yesterday regarding their E3 press conference.

Consumers can choose from the following convenient ways to experience Nintendo content during the E3 Expo:

• Web: Starting today, fans can go online to visit the Nintendo All-Access @ E3 2012 website at http://e3.nintendo.com for the latest information about new and upcoming games and hardware from Nintendo. The site will be optimized for smartphones, so people can keep up-to-date while on the go. Visitors to the site also can watch a live stream of the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012 starting at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 5.

• Television: Nintendo is partnering with Viacom as the exclusive television broadcaster for the Nintendo All-Access
Presentation @ E3 2012. Viewers with access to the Spike TV or MTV2 networks can watch the presentation live with no commercial interruptions.

• Facebook: Facebook users can visit and Like the Nintendo page at http://www.facebook.com/nintendo to get regular updates from the E3 Expo and connect with other Nintendo fans. A special E3 Expo tab will make it simple to access E3 Expo content, including video clips and a Nintendo Instagram gallery. The Nintendo @ E3 Expo app will also allow users to stream the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012 and other events on Facebook.

• YouTube: Nintendo will be posting video updates from the show on its YouTube Channels at http://www.youtube.com/nintendo. The lineup of videos will include sneak peeks at upcoming hardware and software as well as interviews with game developers.

• Twitter: Twitter users can follow Nintendo (@NintendoAmerica) to receive tweets from the show. Nintendo representatives will also be live-tweeting events such as the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012 on June 5.

Presented annually by the Entertainment Software Association, the E3 Expo attracts video game professionals, journalists, analysts and business partners from around the globe. Additional information is available at http://www.e3expo.com.

Hm, it seems the press conference will finally be on a channel I own (Spike TV) instead of the other specialty channels. I guess I'll watch it there.

I remember reading that there is going to be two roundtables after the on stage presentation, one specifically for first party titles and another one for third parties. Could this mean that there won't be enough time to present everything within the on stage hour?

Another new thing is that they will have a system developer discussion about the Wii U hardware, explaining that the Wii U is supposed to compete with next gen and not current perhaps?

I'd love there to be two shows, an hour doesn't seem enough for showing the Wii U as well as any Wii U/3DS software and no doubt the first 10 minutes would be "hey look at how well we did with Wii/DS/3DS" followed by graphs.

It's a showcase of the titles announced the day before I guess, the important thing to know is that they will have their roundtables going into details with both first party and third party games this year, basically showing stuff that didn't make it into their on stage presentation.
Hopefully they'll keep financial talk to a minimum and give out that kind of information at the roundtable instead.

For just watching the conference, there's nothing wrong with those networks considering the actual conference will be streamed without commercials and commentary. After the conference ends, there's no reason to stick with those shit networks.

I don't think that really matters considering the actual conference will be streamed without commercials and commentary. After the conference ends, there's no reason to stick with those shit networks.

Point is, we need a dedicated gaming network; it's sad that we live in a reality where Spike and MTV2 are hosting...anything video game related, especially E3.

We're broadcasting LIVE and on PlayStation 3, Youtube, Ustream, PlayStation.Com and PlayStation Home

Thankfully the above is the case (or perhaps not as the last few years have demoed nothing of great note that did not get leaked beforehand and if I had an excuse to miss it I would have welcomed it).

That seems to be pretty much the same layout as last year give or take an half a hour or a hour in terms of times. I have managed to get in on a stream these last few years but nice to know they have some stuff for those that can not (other conferences anticipating feed problems with live feeds have had alternative methods for years now).

Not really awesome. Because G4 was supposed to be the go to channel for everything gaming. But now they are only interested in showing cops and cheaters all day long. if the channel doesnt go off the air soon then idk what they're doing

I haven't watched G4 in ages because I don't have it anymore. Spike comes with the basics here.
