Hardware Wii U controller has clickable sticks, different placement

wow I didn't know that! I guess if we want a small tip, then I wouldn't mind a multitouch resistive screen as well.

That's my point, there are just minor differences, I wouldn't mind either one.
As I said, the both have weak and strong points. The weakest with resistive being it feeling outdated because of other smart devices.

Not to nitpick but Single touch vs multitouch is a big difference imo. although I bet you would disagree =P. The weakest part of resistive is the feeling of being outdated because its single touch only imo. Oh well lets just wait till E3 to see the final product, but most likely Nintendo is sticking with resistive. I'll be mind blown if its resistive/capacitve with multitouch.

Anyways, I'm digging the new leak photo of the wii u controller. analogs>circle pad. also I like the new position for the start/select button which is easier to reach. And I'm curious with what the square thingy underneath the d-pad is.

Well good news for you that the patent that mentions multitouch is the same as the one with analog sticks, so it's very likely.

To put it in perspective, the screen's slightly bigger than a PS Vita. The controller's not as big as it looks.

Those 'new' sticks look pretty comfy, I'm still interested in how the the wii u's potential circle pads might differ in feel to the 3DS [I often find my self having to re-position my thumb to the center or hitting the top of the d-pad.] As suggested somewhere earlier in this thread, I also think Circle-pads would be more suited being 'clickable' than analogue sticks

I'm still very annoyed with the analog stick placement. Not only does it seem uncomfortable and difficult to use, but it also is really the only thing that makes the controller look truly bad.

The controller is just that: a controller. It's not a handheld and it's not a tablet, so yes, you have to have a Wii U, and no, you can't take it to school with you and play it there unless a Wii U is close by.

The controller is just that: a controller. It's not a handheld and it's not a tablet, so yes, you have to have a Wii U, and no, you can't take it to school with you and play it there unless a Wii U is close by.

Speaking of which, remember the portable battery pack they made for the gamecube? Imagine if they made one for the Wii U? You could then stick the Wii U in a safe pocket in your backpack (maybe wrap it in a blanket or sweatshirt, for extra padding), and use the tablet to play on the go!

Sorry to burst your bubble but imagine the amount of power that would consume, not to mention how much heavier the wii u is compared to a gamecube.
plus we have the 3DS and the Vita y'know.

Of course it would consume a lot of power. I know it's probably not practical at all, but it would still be cool, imo. Lol.

Besides, we have no idea how big the system will be. The only hint of size we have is in the e3 2011 concept video, which showed it being comparable in size to the original Wii. Who knows how big the final product will be?

We now know that the demos at E3 was running of SD cards since the placeholder systems didn't house any optical drives. And seeing how rushed last years presentation was and how Nintendo are experimenting with the controller It's more than likely to change.

Compare the D-pad of any other Nintendo system (excluding DSphat) and they're all the same size.
Going by that I'd say this is just a bit bigger than the GBA.
