So my collection so far is:

Nice collection. A little thin but nice. :P
NES
SNES
Sega megadrive (the first one)
Sega megadrive (the second one)
N64 (two of them)
PS1
Dreamcast
Gamecube
Wii
Gameboy (the first big grey one)
Gameboy Pocket
Gameboy color
Gameboy Advance
Gameboy Advance SP (two of them)
NDS

Next is to make my brother give me his regular Xbox so I can waste my money on a 3DS.
After that is where your opinions comes in.

A PS2 would be a nice addition to your collection, because it has a huge library and it's not on your list.

Given the facts that your current collection is 74% cartridge based and a surprising 40% handheld devices, the obvious answers are such:
1. Virtual Boy-Because of it's small footprint. Or....
2. Vectrex-Because you are clearly leaning this way and have no vector-based consoles in your collection.

Yeah I have thought about PS2. I never got one and always wanted one because all my friends did have one.
I'll get that after 3DS then. Gotta save money for Wiiu as well. Ain't gonna buy that on launch day though. Will wait til the price goes down.

I have been looking into virtual boy and vectrex seems interresting.
But as told, I think I'll get PS2 first, because I have two reasons.
1. I always wanted one
2. I have three games already because my ex girlfriend had a PS2 and I really wanted to play FFX so I bought it. And then I bought some more games.

60% of your current collection has already been successfully emulated thus far. I'd spring for a Dingoo A320/330 to pass the time betwixt your next purchase; it's handheld and waaaaay reliable.

PS2 would be the obvious choice at the moment. The console is cheap and the games are even cheaper (outside of rarities).

My other suggestions would be PSP and the Xbox 360. PSP is just a great handheld with some awesome games and the Xbox 360 has consistently been fun for me. PS3 also works if you find the exclusives there are more worthwhile or something.

You don't have a Sega Genesis. Why don't you have a Sega Genesis? You should get a Sega Genesis. In fact, you should buy my Sega Genesis.

Really though, if you're looking for completing the more classic portions, the Genesis has been one of my favorites in the old days. Otherwise, yeah, PS2 is your next best bet. I don't even know why you would want to get the brick known as the XboX :/ But hey, to each their own.

Oh, I almost forgot about the Genesis.. How could I!? I will buy that evantually as well.

Xbox is a clumsy console yeah but there are only benefits of getting it for free. And also I am a collector and I love Halo and there are other games that my interrest follows. I know I can play them on 360 but why would I skip one console if I buy all the other ones? That would destroy my collection.

I was looking into PC Engine and Comodore 64 as well.

PS2 is an excellent system to get into with a small budget. A massive library with games of virtually every genre (for example, shmups, racing, fighting, RPGs, music, shooters, EVERYTHING).

PS2 or PSP (also try ta find an eye toy for the ps2, it's sorta neat. It's sonys earlier attempt at a kinect type gadget)
If you can find one get a Virtual boy just for kicks
Xbox 360 with kinect

I'd recommend getting yourself a Gizmondo. You certainly won't enjoy it, but at least you'll win yourself some street cred (in streets where people have heard of the Gizmondo).
