When I tried http://www.timesplittersportal.com, I got:

Tracing route to timesplittersportal.com [174.34.168.88]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 destination host unreacheable.

Trace complete.
It seems to me that it is your computer. It doesn't even reach your router/modem. Have you tried another browser?

I have the same thing going on with one of my computers at work, it cannot connect to google/yahoo; there are no proxies enabled, the hosts file has the same thing you have, loopback 127.0.0.1 and the rest is commented out. I go on other computers and does not have that loopback thingy
