Welp, I finally got the cash for my Vita. However, I have a few choices so I'd like the opinion of fellow Vita members on what to do. I have enough money for the Vita Launch bundle (3G/Wifi + 8GB Memory stick + Free PSN game) or a Wifi Vita and 1 game $50 or less. I have no idea which one to choose, as with the launch bundle I can get some free PSN game and an 8GB memory stick, if I choose the Wifi Vita and whatever game I have to stick with whatever size memory stick comes with it (2GB right? Or is it 1GB? Or none...I have no clue) but I still get a game to play (Uncharted looks good, but not sure). So there's one decision I have to make.

Now, if I get the Launch Bundle, does anyone have a list of PSN games available that's somewhat interesting and lengthy enough to last until I can buy a few more games? Also, recommendations on what I should get?

If I end up getting just the Wifi Vita and the game, any recommendation on which game to get? I've already got Wipeout 2048...kinda. I'm kind of interested in Unit 13 but not sure how well shooters work on the Vita. Also interested in Uncharted, but not sure if I'll enjoy it enough to keep playing. The rest of the games don't look appealing to me at the moment but if you could give some recommendations on that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all in advance, and can't wait to get my Vita :yaypsp:

Bear in mind that the 8 GB stick is $30, so if you buy into the 3G bundle, then it's only $20 extra for functionality that you can use down the road (which is what I did).

That said, if you're unsure, there's a demo for nearly every game out now on the PlayStation Store and I highly encourage you to download them all and give them each a shot before you make a selection. Personally, I have ModNation Racers, Rayman Origins, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and I don't have a favorite out of the three- I find them all fantastic for different reasons.

I thought there was some pretty dumb fine print on the whole "1 Free Game" thing, like you needed an active 3G plan or something.

If not, the 3G/Wifi one is pretty much a no-brainer. Unless you're really opposed to a digital copy of a game, you basically get a system and a game with an 8GB memory stick for free, if you buy a $50 game like Uncharted that is. Even without a 3G plan, the 3G models are still the same as the Wifi models but they also have GPS functions regardless of if you have a plan or not.

Now that you mention it I'll try to do some investigation on the 3G/Wifi bundle deal thing since it seems pretty ideal to me.

EDIT: I read this on the Playstation Blog (run by Sony):

With only 27 days until the launch of PlayStation Vita, we are excited to announce two PS Vita 3G/WiFi bundles. If you were one of the lucky consumers to pre order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB data session (a $14.99 value) upon purchase of one 250 MB data session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation on the AT&T mobile broadband network. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date.

According to Amazon, the memory card is now 8GB, not 4.

So you need to buy a 250MB data session (for $15) to get the PSN game. Still, you get another 250MB for free and you're still paying $315 for around $375 worth of stuff (3G system = $300, 4GB memory card = $20, game = $50, $15 for the data pass). EDIT 3; Seems like Little Deviants isn't part of the bundle according to the Playstation Store.

Fuck I'll need to get this shit. I may actually ask a friend or parent to run out with me on Thursday so I can buy it in store.

EDIT 2: Game sizes provided by Kotaku if you were wondering how much space you needed:

AR Combat DigiQ: Friend Tank Battalion – 220 MB
Army Corps of Hell – 598 MB
Asphalt Injection – 724 MB
BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend – 3180 MB
Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die – 121 MB
Dark Quest: Alliance – 1057 MB
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention – 1619 MB
Dream Club Zero Portable – 2835 MB
Dynasty Warriors Next – 1485 MB
Everybody’s Golf 6 – 1100 MB
F1 2011 – 1435 MB
Little Deviants – 869 MB
Live Tweet – 5760 KB
Lord of Apocalypse – 1427 MB
Mahjong Fight Club – 793 MB
Michael Jackson: The Experience HD – 1225 MB
Minna to Issho: Friend Network – 168 MB
Monster Radar – 1640 MB
Nico Nico – 14 MB
Power Smash 4 – 1241 MB
Ridge Racer – 561 MB
Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen – 1057 MB
Touch My Katamari – 744 MB
True Night of the Kamaitachi: The 11th Visitor – 793 MB
Uke-torne – 16 MB
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – 1350 MB
Uncharted: Golden Abyss – 2777 MB

Sorry, these are Japanese versions so you're missing a few NA launch titles.

That's why I was torn between the 2, I just haven't had the time to actually do any research on the 3G/Wifi bundle so I figured I'd ask here. But now that I have time, I think I'll just have to do that little bit of research.

Meh, fuck the 3G then. I know I would never use it, if I ever need to I'll just wifi tether my phone to my Vita...haha. Hence why the GPS function doesn't matter to me as well, I have multiple GPS units and 2 phones with working GPS so I don't necessarily need another one. So yeah, I'll just go with the Wifi version and one game.

The only game that the US launch bundle got was Super Stardust so if you want any other game you are out of luck. Also to get the game for free you have to pay for a month of 3G service.

TBH a month of 3G service under the basic plan is only $15/month and it's there's no contracts, so you can just purchase a month, get your free game, and then done with the service. My only issue is if the data carries over, like your 3G ends when your data ends. Although I doubt it, your 3G just ends when your data ends or at the end of the month it seems. You can basically look at it though as paying $15 for a potentially $50 game though, which is pretty sweet.

Well if you have any interesting finds then please share, I'm in the same boat as you right now, I'm just plotting out my Vita purchase and I'll go grab it once the money comes in (which could be as soon as tomorrow).

It's Motorstorm RC and I'm wondering if that promotion is still going on.

I know I have activated my plan to get my free game but the only game that the US was offered was Super Stardust which means you are paying $15 for a month of data and a game that equals $15.

I think there must be a mistake then. There are bundles that include Super Stardust as a freebie but every 3G/Wifi bundle I've seen explicitly say ANY PSN game.

there is a source that confirms the only game the US got was Stardust, if I still have the email they sent I can show it to you as well.

Yes ,it still is free.

I did not have a choice and i got the wi-fi only version ,but maybe I am just a damn hoarder but i feel like it is incomplete ,even though i am sure i wouldn't use the 3g function because it is to expensive here in Portugal.
