This year we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary and the team thinks it's about time we got back into doing what we became famous for in the first place.
So you need a J-Tag/RGH/DevKit to flash this kernel? Probably have to have a Dual Nand to access XBL... so really how useful is this other than Boot Animations? Then again how useful is Boot Animations....? Bit of a hype whore video really....

There is a difference. FSD was just a reskin based off (AFAIK) 7371, whereas Fusion is a completely new OS in itself (correct me if I'm wrong). The new features like Pair DVD key and Generate KV have never been seen before.

Didn't see the "pair DVD" or "Generate KV" features on the video.... Heck I didn't even know Team Xecuter even released news about these features (trust me I looked). So far all I know is that there are other features that we all don't know about unless you have a good source with proof. All I see this as a hype whore video by Team Xecuter saying they fully customized a kernel that boasts "all protections removed", "custom boot animations" and "and dozens of new features" (yes its plural xD) using dramatic music and flashy graphics to present it in a lame YouTube video.
"Hai guyz I just flashed my RGH with txFusion!! And now I have this super duper awesome Boot Animations and all its new featutures makes it so my RGH can.... Oh wait.... But all the protections have been removed from it so i can.... Wait what can I do again?..." - Me

No you can put this on your powerbrick if you rub the head of a homeless guy 3 times whilst singing the national anthem backwards
/super sarcasm.
It's a completely new core OS that offers more options ON the 360 it self rather then constantly flashing a newly hacked NAND to your NAND chip thus lowering it's lifespan.
They said custom boot animations so you could basically make a short boot screen or completely remove it.
Besides you can modify settings on the fly as far as it seems.
I have zero experience running homebrew on a 360, but I've heard it was a nightmare to run unsigned code. If this new kernel (a new os as whole, too) let's you do this without some heavy hardware modification, then is a big improvement in the 360 scene.

And it isn't really a nightmare, the CPU and RAM and GPU etc all run at 100% of their capacity.
That's why jTAG's/Glitch boxes run hotter then stock models.
Proper cooling prevents this. (my 360 runs ~40 CPU ~40 GPU and ~55 RAM, I still need to slap some small heatsinks on the exposed RAM chips)

Doesn't look like a new OS at all. Actually it looks like a modified dashboard with a fully customized kernel. Note that Team Xecuter only said its a Customized kernel. There are more rumours going around than actual true information. We don't know if they built this kernel from the ground up or if they took a kernel and customized it themselves. We don't know any other features other than it has removed all of the protection Microsoft put on the official kernels. We don't know if you need to flash this with a RGH/J-Tag/DevKit or maybe you can flash this kernel straight to the NAND.

You'll have to have your console hardware hacked in order to run custom code.
Otherwise they would have been running Linux on the slims since the day they have launched.
The "core OS" is the kernel basically.
The dashboard is just the GUI.
FSD is just another replacement dash that runs on a hacked 14699 kernel for example.
It's basically the same with the old Xbox.
UnleashX Evox Avalaunch XBMC and others are just replacement dashes that run on "retail" or hacked BIOSses (kernels)
As for those rumors.
They might be true, I won't say their not.

No the Dashboard is still the actual OS. The kernel holds the boot animation, CPU key (Encrypts keyvault), Keyvault (which holds DVD key, system info ect) and other stuff. Right now J-Tags and RGH's are running a patched (modified) kernel that is vulnerable to run unsigned code. The Xbox 360 holds 2 bootloaders, a kernel and a operating system. 1st bootloader decrypts and loads the second bootloader which holds the kernel. On a Jtag/RHG the second bootloader patches the kernel and hypervisor then loads the Dashboard. On a non modified console the second bootloader just loads the unpatched kernel and hypervisor then loads the dash. The dashboard uses the kernel as an information source to run code (patched one runs unsigned code). So to my understanding when you JTag/RGH your Xbox 360 you dump your CPU rom to get your Bootloader 1 key then dump your nand to use your bootloader 1 key to patch your kernel to run unsigned code that is located on your nand. Note that I'm not an expert on this.
So really txFusion is really another patched kernel? With all protections removed? The boot animation is held in the kernel so thats probably how they can load custom ones.

I wanna grab a 360 Slim and a 360 E one of these days. Missed the boat of getting them at their lowest though, once they were discontinued. Could've got them for cheap back when I was a broke 20 something working at Target, but then again, I was a broke 20 something working at Target
