So apparently there are some restrictions on signed homebrew. What would these be? I want to know because I put some signed homebrew on my friends PSP and didn't know there was any restrictions. Do the games run slower?

The only things on there are NesterJ and some new Snes9x emulator, along with cave story.

User-mode only. Stuff like PSP Ident that grabs motherboard info won't work, and some emulators that utilitize hardware a specific way for extra speed won't work.
(Also traditionally ISO-loading doesn't work since you need a virtual device driver, but the ability to fakesign ISOs via transplanting PSN info got past that somewhat.)
I'm not aware of any new SNES emulator, and AFAIK only the slower versions work signed.

Just hack his PSP and stick the good emulators from the sticky on there for him.

To be specific, SNES emulators that use the Media Engine will not work just like with HBL. Just stick with HBL compatible homebrew and it will (usually) work when signed.

Yeah, I noticed that the Snes9x I got for him ran at 50 FPS while mine runs at full speed.
