I've recently bought a 32GB SD for my acekard, and i've put games on it, but when i actually go into my games on the ds some of the games show as being corrupted.

Half of the games seem fine, half of them don't appear at all, there is a corrupted folder in the 'Games' folder which i didn't copy there, and most of the games that actually do show don't even have the little identification image that shows the game. Does anyone know anything i could do to fix this, i have tried coping them all over as one big bulk, i've tried copying them over in groups of 5-10, i've tried formatting it through the operating system and i've also tried formatting it through the Panasonic SD formatter the Acekard team have provided. None of this seems to fix this problem. i thought it might be that the SD card is fucked, but if that was the case it wouldn't show any games at all and wouldn't let me play the ones that show up, would it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. D:

True, if i was you i would format the card using the Panasonic SDFormatter, then put 1 game on at a time and then try to play the game until you get to the game/games that you get the trouble with

google tells me: http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold-standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/

you might want to try remaking the partition using gparted live.

we have only tested up to 16 gb with the ak2i. it *should* support all the way to 32 but none of the devs or beta testers ever had a 32 gig card to test with.

Ah, i see, so the 32GB is theoretically thought to be supported but thay haven't actually tested it?
And i don't actually see why it wouldbn't be supported anyway, at the moment i'm just disk-checking the Card, after that i'll run the h2test and then i'll try the partition thing you mentioned.

Thanks for the advice, i'll get back to you in a few hours to tell you if anything happened.

Yeah you got a fake. As in, it's really a 2GB card, but they messed with it to make it appear larger.

I wouldn't expect a refund unless they're reselling it not knowing it's fake. Don't buy your memory from ebay.

Get your memory from a store like newegg or a brick and mortar store, and get a respectable brand.

I live in the UK so i've never heard of those stores, and the electronic stores over here charge in between £60-£99 for a 32GB. D:
Would it make a difference if i bought, say, a Sandisk 32GB from eBay or would you not even risk that?

Ebay is not a bad place to buy (when you know how to find safe sellers) but make sure they(sellers) have been around a while and thier rating is high. Their sales depend on the satisfaction of customers, this gets thier name from a given search toward the top if the search list, which equals more sales.. BUT this only applies to sellers who are not newbs it applies to those sticking around a while. Many of these dealers (and those of Amazon as well have brick and mortar stores and just use these venues to suppliment thier sales. Most power sellers or other high rated dealers (98% satisfaction or better) on Ebay and Amzon are really trying to give a top notch deal so you will send busines thier way and come again for return purchases. Most reputable ones will refund or return on a bum item in an attempt to keep thier customers happy and ratings up. Though there may be the random dealer which may even innocently sell a bum item without knowing it. Even they will be willing to correct the problem. If all else fails, ask them before purchase about your concerns, most will realistically work with you.

All of this assumes the SDHC chip is not some cheap knock off that is made at some sleezy company selling inferior memory.

Best to pick from the 'power sellers'. Besides complaining to Ebay themselves or better yet paypal about a fake item WILL get your money returned toot sweet. But don't do this to a fair dealer, thier livelyhood depends on it. One bad rating can crush a business.
On another poss solution/consideration: A friend of mine periodically downloads these roms which corrupt her SDHC chip. Don't know where she's getting them from but it ruins her chip making it inacessable and other strange stuff, never her cart just her SDHC chip. So, even though I'm not sure how, apparently some roms have some sort of virus on them, though I am certainly no expert and you should seek far better advice than I can give on that topic..

well i'm also thinking to the future, if the 3DS get's hacked to actually support 3ds roms then it would come in handy, i mean the file sizes are huge compared to DS roms, and i'm a bit of a RPG player and so most of the roms i have on my 8GB SD card are huge sizes, the majority being 128MB - 256MB, and when i fancy swapping it up i need to delete some games and half of them i don't want to, on top of that it would come in handy for general stuff to store on it for swapping between computers. I see what you mean with the fake labels as well, i hadn't thought about that.

And the guy i bought it off has decent stats anyway, his feedback score is 215 and the positive feedback is 100%.
also just found out that he's replied to my message and has refunded the money so i guess it may have been an accident, he has already sold around 300 of them. i guess it's a happy ending in it's own way.

Again, thanks for all the advice everybody.

so far the only 3ds cart in production (well public production) uses a flash chip. it can only hold 1 rom at a time. sdhc support might come one day, but right now we don't even have a 3ds cart, so don't get your hopes up. it could be possible that by the time we have a working solution you can pick up a 32 gb sdhc card for $10.

be careful with sandisk and kingston. they are the most "faked" cards out there. which is why we recommend that you buy from an actual store with an actual return policy.

i have to agree with what has already been said. i use a trancend 8gb class-6 for my ak2i. i have about 10 ds games, 100 homebrew projects, a crap load of emulation, some mp3s, and a few vids. its more than i can ever hope to play, even if the vacation was 2 weeks long.

good luck to you!
