The installer is his work, not yours. He's not making money off of your work.

But it wouldn't exist without the things it installs.

That doesn't matter. He is making money (and by money I mean a fraction of a cent per link) off of his own installer.

No offence meant to XFlak, but very little of what ModMii can install is made by him. Yes he made the installer, but not a lot else (I know he contributed to d2x and stuff, but the majority of stuff he didn't really). He is also making money from a tool that downloads copyrighted code from Nintendo, which may be legally questionable, I dunno (I know it is freely available, that doesn't give the right to make money off of it). IMO, it would be OK if there were no ads, and people who donate didn't get anything for their donation (i.e. they still had the same program, so they weren't actually paying for something, they were just donating). Not sure if the DML team would agree here, but that's sort of the way I see it.

sorry for noob question, how i format a 4G card in FAT32 64Kb? Or 64Kb is only for 32G cards?
I only have a 32Kb option.

It isn't possible with 4GB. Normal FAT with 64KB clusters is, but I don't know if it is better than FAT32 32KB clusters.

Both sides are understandable, it's just a shame the end user has to do with modmii without DML...

With the addition of 3 additional free, open-source command-line tools, a few extra downloads, and a couple dozen lines of batch code, you could just add support for compiling DML straight from source all the way to a final output wad with very little trouble. The DML devs have no obligation to post releases in a format that is ModMii compatible. If ModMii wants to support DML, then it's ModMii that needs to support DML, not the other way around.

The source repo is public, they're sharing it with EVERYBODY. They just aren't giving ModMii any special treatment. They can't stop XFlak from supporting it if he wants to do the work to do so but I really don't blame them for not wanting to go the extra mile for somebody else that wants to make money off of their work.

Hi there, did anybody got Baten Kaitos to work? I got my clean Disc-Rip, put it in DiscEx, everything went fine, but when I start it via Neogamma or in CFG it only gives me a black screen.

had a strange isseu with r42...upon loading a game from sd card it loaded the insterted cg disc instead.
Had lots of black screen after that...
I decided to reinstall the .wad and everything worked fine again....

also happens when shutting the wii off during GC dios mios gameplay sometimes.... ( no other way to quit the game ...)
Reinstalling the same .wad again fixes it for me.

Works fine in r42.

Super Mario Sunshine USA Green screen on PAL Wii in r43. Fine in r42.

But all that means is that there will be a LOT less people using DML, so less people who end up donating to those who have worked on DML. It's ModMii's loss, the communities loss, and also your loss.

Xflak has made sure that every developer has a spot on the credits page with links to their paypal for donations.

Xflak and I were actually just talking the other day about who will be the next "Developer of the Week", and we both thought that crediar should be next in line and we were already starting to work on it. XFlak tries to make it that not all money goes to him, but so that people are encouraged to donate to other developers too.

I'll tell you, the money that xflak has made off of linkbucks is negligible, seriously, you be shocked.

WHat demands do you have for ModMii to fit by your requirements? Whats a happy middle ground? Why all of a sudden make a big deal about this?

I Agree, and also want to know. Why is modmii ( XFlak ) really discriminated?
Because the made asumptions about making money hold no ground what so ever IMHO.
This is great way to kill DML, if the devs really would care about DML, they would not make a fuzz about this.

I can confirm this. I installed DML last night (r43) for the first time and guess what was the first game I tried?
I reverted to r42 and was blinded by the awesomeness that is DML. By the way, I was using a rather slow Patriot 4GB SD card (I haven't yet ordered a decent 32GB one) and both MKDD and SoulCalibur II worked flawlessly, so unless there are games that are much more demanding, in terms of data loading, I don't think the card is that much of a factor. SoulCalibur used to cause major stutter in my tests with Swiss.

Also, to join in on the silliness, I think one post is enough to state your opinion on something. More posts mean that you are trying to convince someone else that your opinion is better than theirs.
