@[member='Hielkenator']:
(sorry: just got back from work)

Yes, I got it working in 480p. It asks to display it like that at the start, during the nintendo logo ("do you want to display in progressive scan mode?"). And I did the "discex -c" option like on most games (except the reported problem games).

The folder (PZLE01) is 1.287.124.579 bytes in size*.. The source I got it from had it a zip file that contained just "n-tlozcer.iso" (sorry: no further hints from origin).

Also: I ran it from postloader (3.63.3), from my emu-nand (though it runs the DML on real nand). And DML was version 40.

Hope this helps. :)

*note: this is also the only GC game starting with a different letter than "G".

Did you actually tried loading one of the games?
I get also get to that menu, but loading games results in black screen.
Windwaker demo is working though....

Hmm also there's some byte difference.... will look into my recources! Thank you!

I started Ocarina of Time long enough to start playing and the Majora's mask game twice to see if there was much difference with progressive scanning (not that I could see...but I haven't thoroughly checked). Haven't tested Zelda, Zelda 2 or the windwaker demo.

My image is working unshrunk...
When I use GCMUtilty05 tt shrink the .iso the game is broken...
So that's the obvious cause!

Discex'-c I can;t get to work.....
Thank you!

Discex works as follows:
1. go to this site, download the discex .rar file and extract the files therein to a random folder (I suggest something close to the root of your hard drive).
2. put your iso or gcm file in that same folder. If needed, give it a shorter name.
3. open a dos prompt (start - run on XP or the "search programs and files" thingy on vista/7, then type "CMD" - without the brackets).
4. welcome to oldskool DOS. Type "CD \folder\subfolder\whatever" (or wherever you stored the previous files). Again, just what's between brackets
5. type "Discex -c n-tlozcer.iso". If you have an iso name with spaces, you'll need to type double brackets around the filename, eg. " Discex -c "the legend of zelda.iso" "
6. done for you...discex will do some stuff on its own for a while, creating the folder in the process.

I haven't used GCMUility to shrink games, and since it's never mentioned, I assume it's not recommended either.

I just formatted it to FAT with 64KB cluster. I don't know if it is good though, but it worked fine with the games I tried. No loading issues whatsoever.

You need a bigger memory card to format it FAT32 64K cluster.

Also could anyone please answer my questions I posted a few pages back:
I installed SNEEK+DI r192 today with ModMii and I want to use it for DML. My real NAND has DML r35 installed to it and my fake NAND doesn't have DML installed to it and with SNEEK+DI I am able to play GC games with DML (I am loading them with the disc channel). So my guess is that it is using the DML Mios from my real NAND. I thought that if you used SNEEK+DI you had to install the DML Mios to your fake NAND in order to play GC games. Could anyone clarify this? And if possible, how can I setup SNEEK so it will use the DML Mios from the fake NAND. I want this, so I can leave my real NAND as unmodded as possible.

I also wonder what the disc drive needs to at least be capable of. I have a Wii that has a pretty bad laser and it often doesn't read discs. Does the laser have to work in order for DML to work? Because the laser could stop working any time juding from its current condition.

So, do you really need to have DML installed to your real NAND with SNEEK and has this always been the case? Because I thought you had to install it to your virtual NAND before.

@[member='Hielkenator']: sorry...haven't checked that video before (I always follow text-based tutorials).

@[member='KentaZX']: FAT with 64k clusters is fine. Also...this used to be a huge deal in r21, but I'm not sure if that requirement is still needed (I thought I saw stfour mention he got the same speeds at 32k clustersize in a later revision).

@[member='danielkraak']: correct: if you compile the DML wad as provided, it'll need to be installed to the real NAND.
It should be possible to have it on the emulated nand if you comment out a line of code, compile it and put it in your emu nand structure, according to this post.
...but with all the current beta's and revisions coming out so fast, it'll remain on my to do list for some time. :P

@[member='Wever']: I am glad to report that after following your instructions, everything went perfectly fine.I can now launch both Swiss and DML and I am actually converting my GC games with Disc-Ex.This process takes time but as soon as I finish,I will report back about game compatibility! Thanks again for giving me knowledge and hope to continue! :)

P.S Have you managed to solve the MC issue yet?Are you using your MC with your saves normally now?I am afraid to plug my MC just yet...

well just saw r43 being out on the source, btw another question, i have the wii hacks and loaders and stuff already on the 2GB card, does that mean i have to put that up in my 4GB? thus adding more space to it? :(

r43 changelog said:
* Added the patch for __GXSetVAT, fixes the dungeon map freeze in Wind Waker

This should be an interesting patch for Zelda lovers. :) (haven't found the time to patch that iso manually, so I'm curious how this plays out).

@panmusic. Good to hear. :)
For the memory card: check this thread (sorry, but I'm not going to keep repeating things ;) ).

@[member='KentaZX']: if you're running things from your real nand (and you probably are), then you can move most, if not everything over to your USB drive, thus freeing up space on your SD card.

so is there something special i need to do? or just basically drag and drop and the homebrew channel will automatically read it? ive never placed anything wii related except backups in the external harddrive before i just always use the SD card

If the ISO (dol) is manually patched since before, do we have to unpatch it or does the patch dml does reqognize an already patched dol?

It just wont find the pattern and ignore it, so you can leave it patched.

Does anybody experience any slow-downs whatsoever?
Instead of benchmarking a bunch of cards, it might be easier if we find out if anyone actually experience slowdowns. If nobody does, then the card brand is not a limitation and we are good to go with any cheap card.
Surely someone must have tried it with a shitty card that can serve as the reference low point.
That might be me in the next few days with my crappy Patriot 4GB

okay problems, i cant get all the homebrew channel and bootmii (as boot 2 as i remember the first time i hacked it) to show up in my usb device even though i moved everything from SD card to my Hard drive, help please? sorry for being off topic but i need help with this so i can move on with using DML

EDIT: okay i ve tried loading neogamma from my hardrive, that went on, then it searched for the zelda 4 swords game, then when i load it, it just went black screen and resetted my wii... i even have a wii disc inserted, didnt worked, tried again with a gc disc inserted, didnt worked either...im trying to use r42 as well....what is it that i could be doing wrong...?

EDIT2: MY MISTAKE, i was stupid apparently to install v10.wad instead of the R42DML.wad thing, fixed that and now the game turned on :D trying out 4swords adventure right now, but still i have that usb hard drive problem where bootmii wont load fro the harddrive and wiimod can even read it. can someone help me on that so i can clear out everything from my 2GB SD card finally?
