Konami is making a Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D hardware bundle with a neat looking embossed "snake skin" style. Want to buy one? You’re going to need a little luck on your side. Konami will raffle off tickets to purchase the hardware bundle from their online store. That’s right you have to win the right to buy this 3DS. Konami did the same thing for the limited edition New LovePlus handhelds too. In addition to the special handheld you get a copy of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and two clear folders for 22,980 yen ($298).

Meh looks really cheap done in my eyes.

Wow... you have to win the rights to buy it? That's really lame. Also, it doesn't look that good in my eyes...
Yea really lame, first you have to win a contest, then if you are really lucky and win it... you have to pay full price xD (and it doesn't even look that good imao)

Good In my ass out? :creep:

On topic: I wish it were available for everyone like any other 3DS. What is "two clear folders"?

Meh. I'll just wait for the Chinese factories to make a replica shell that I can stick the 3DS guts into. Most of these limited edition DS systems tend to get replica shells.

This contest is terrible. First, you have to be really lucky to win, provided more than six people were stupid enough to enter. Then if you do win, you have to shell out nearly $300 for a hideous looking 3DS, a couple of cheap plastic folders, and a game that barely seems worth it now, if at all. I don't think Konami understands that when somebody hears that there is a special edition bundle, that they're hoping for a good, attractive deal.

I don't think they understand how a contest is supposed to work. You're supposed to win something, and no, the right to give them money does not count.

the problem is, this actually works in Japan.

so no, it doesn't matter how apprehensive you are of this method, or the presumed prize.

anyways, the snake skin (barring that top photo that was badly photoshopped--i mean seriously, it's supposed to be embossed with snake scales, so why does it have a STRAIGHT DIAGONAL SHEEN?) looks like it's just a sleeve that slips on the top half of the 3DS, kinda like those aluminum armors, except this one has a leather snake skin texture.

That image is in fact taken from Konami's own web shop.
