It's pretty much the whole fun of MC.
The game is god awful for singleplayer. It's so damn boring. But hell, add even one real person to the mix and it's a lot of fun.

For a while after animals became persistent and before sheep regrowth that was the only way to get wool, I'm both a RL and in game vegetarian and when I started a private server I went weeks without using a bed because my idiot friend killed the only three sheep we could find and died in lava with their drops still in his inventory.
BTW I play as a veggie to make the game a bit more difficult and not because of the moral dilemma since most animals seem to commit suicide by jumping off cliffs anyway.

Well, Superflat's only three layers thick, with the bottom layer being bedrock, and Slimes are set to spawn so close to bedrock...

Well generally I'd assume that CPUs would take up basic functions that normal players wouldn't, such as merchants or guides or stuff like that (if Minecraft actually decided to, y'know, put in a currency system). I mean every MMO has CPUs to fill functions like this, I don't see why Minecraft couldn't or shouldn't.

I mean, if we're going to get updates on everything Minecraft instead of having one thread or something, then what's stopping someone from posting threads in the USN about updates on Runescape, or Facebook, or Call of Duty?

People did post threads about wilderness and free trade coming back for Runescape.
People are posting threads about new Call of Duty games coming out.
People are posting threads when DLC is released for CoD.
