Any suggestions? I'm currently looking to buy the Xoom. Anyone want to change my mind about my choice?

You should definitely check out a tablet called the novo 7 advanced. I was going to buy one but it's out of stock most of the places I checked.

THIS :yay:
How is this the best Android tablet?
Transformer Prime.
This is currently the best Android tablet, but there are rumors of a Nexus branded tablet coming out next year (which should kick ass). So unless you need a tablet now, you should wait for that (it will probably be announced at Google I/O).

Well It's a very good tablet. Their laptops may not be very good but I mean, C'mon its a tablet. People on the XDA forums liked the Iconia.. but its up to you. I should warn you though, tablets are pretty useless when it comes to real world use

Still though.. Unless you are getting the physical keyboard its very irritating. I suggest a netbook for notes and emulation. I had a samsung 10 inch with a 250 gig HDD and it was under $300.. had that puppy on Ubuntu Linux and boy did it fly... I'm exaggerating of course. The speed was pretty good on linux though

Oh.. and I also bought mine for school. Mostly to pirate my school books as eBooks but it didn't play out too well. The N64 emulator wasn't all that great and I already had GBA on my ds lite

I own the Xoom. It's a good tablet with a good solid build. Let's be honest, most android tablets have similar specs (similar cpu, memory, etc). With a few exceptions (such as the Transformers Prime), there won't be a ton of difference when it comes to performance.

If you do plan on using it for school, though, definitely stick with the netbook. I also tried the pirating textbooks on my xoom (with not too much luck either). I use both devices a bit, but for different tasks.

I may just get the xoom, and a bluetooth keyboard b/c the keyboard is 40$ on amazon, where as the Transformer and the prime the keyboard is 150+ dollars

For the best bang for your buck get a netbook or a cheap laptop instead. Will save you more trouble that an Android tablet.

xoom is 500, transfomer is 400 both can use a bluetooth keybord, transformer with keybord is 550, not to mention you would need a stand for the xoom as a bluetooth keyboard wouldn't have a dock. So money wise there about even, specs are about the same [biggest diff. I can see is the xoom has 32gb internal opposed to the transformer 16gb but transmer has a micro sd slot so more memory can be bought for cheap, the xoom only has a usb port which the transformer lacks unless it has a dock then it has two usb ports as well as a sd slot], in the end it's up too you but as crimson ghoul says get a notebook if your going to use if for school as I have yet to find a good word esq writing program.

... :wtf:
:rofl2:
The Transformer Prime has a QUAD CORE 1ghz processor. The Xoom, a teeny tiny dual core.

The xoom 1 has a microSD slot where as the xoom 2 (Droid Xyboard) does not. Also I found the xoom's to be about 400 where as the transformer 480 and the prime is 600

I believe sputnix was refering to the original eePad Transformer with a dual core Tegra 2.

As for my opinion, Transformer Prime takes the cake with its sprial aluminum design, quad core Tegra 3, and 8MP CMOS camera on the rear.

EDIT: Seems as you're going for a budget tablet. However, although it sounds good in theory, note taking for school on a tablet will frustrate you. I highly suggest a cheap netbook with Linux.
