I also feel that in localizing the games we follow suit with the previous DS entries (mainly Dawn/Dusk) that were localized to create a sense of continuity when it comes to the names.

okay now I already asked yugix but, "digitama" versus "digiegg"? As digiegg is what is used in both dusk/dawn.
yugix said digitama. Should I be making a second graphic set with the "digiegg" instead (for those picky about that)?

I don't have enough space in several graphics to put "regression & evolution" would "digivolution" be okay instead? I mean I have less that an inch in the one and the other I could do it - just small to near unreadable.

A reminder will whomever contributes to the project and would like to be in the credits please p.m. Yugix or myself with details of what you would like to be credited with.

I wouldn't bother with the second graphic set for 'digiegg'. It doesn't really seem that important and we all know what it is.

Digivolution would be fine since that's all it is anyway.

Mashmon doesnt hint a mushroom at all
Gato means cat
So Gatomon sounds better than Tailmon. Expecially since nearly everything has a tail in digimon.

Well since all the Digimon games I've played (currently on Data Squad for PS2; it's bleh, but i'm enjoying it), it's always DigiEgg.

Which is odd, because then there's Digitamamon in the same vein.

I think we should keep the items as eggs and have the only instance of "tama" be when referencing Digitamamon and the digivolutions thereof that contain "tama"

I'd personally prefer digitama, but I'm more interested in being able to play the game generally than the small details so I'm not fussed.

I've been reading this pretty much everyday, although I don't really post here....
I also think that evolution doesn't fit well with the main theme of the game... It's digimons, hence I believe it should be Digivolution... I grew up with digivolutions. Also... While an evolution for a Pokemon is permanent, the Digivolution for a Digimon is only temporary in most cases, so changing that would change too much... I dunno how ratsan plans to release this, but since the Digimon names are the english ones, the terms for items and stuff should be the same accordingly to previous games as well, to make a translation that blends in better with the rest of official localisations,.

I'm going to have to agree.
As someone said earlier, evolving is a Pokemon thing (for western people) and Digimon digivolve.
Even if you do watch it in Japanese (I've been watching the latest one) the way they say it is obviously different (as it's a different language and all), so I'd still relate "evolution" to pokemon and not Digimon
