Hardware Looking to buy a PS3

I'm looking to buy a 320GB PS3 (this one, specifically).

I have two simple questions on it, as I have no experience at all on PS3s.

1 - Is this a Slim or Fat model?

2 - Are all PS3s really region-free (for PS3 games)? Some friends told me that some PS3s are regionlocked and some are region-free, and I'd like to be sure about this.

Adding to the topic; Are there any must-get games for the PS3? Will probably only be able to get one or two games with the console.

I'm more into the RPG genre, and the only RPG that got localized and I know of (there are obviously tons of them, I've never really done any research on this) is FFXIII, and I've played it on the X360 already.

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are nice too
