Getting this tomorrow, so yesterday I came across a knock-off of the "3DS Wheel" and decided to buy it for the epic gyro controls.

Got my copy from Tesco just after midnight, cost me £29.90.
Dived straight into 150cc Retro Cups to get the jist and unlock a few characters and now onto Nitro Cups...

I can't believe its now available here. We usually see new game releases a week late. Got a text message from our local game retailer. Going to pick it up tom :)

Just got it and played one cup and I'm really impressed. The graphics are incredible and even in 3D super smooth. I think it looks better than Mario Kart Wii.

Is anyone else really missing the fake item box? I know alot of the wii items have been removed and pretty much all of them i dont miss but i find myself missing the fake item box.

Wiggler is so freaking cool. He turns red every time he is hit and you got the train chu chu theme going. :P

Anyway I've unlocked 6 characters, Two more to go...... Roselia and metal Mario tracks are hard, I can't seem to win in those. :/ More than anything I'm always unlucky, getting hit by the blue shell when I'm in the lead.

just played 2 cups......... IT'S SO AWESOME :D game looks so good... and plays really nice.. too bad about the snaking wished it was like on mario kart ds
but still this game rocks.. :yaynds:

Huh. I never really got into these but i kinda like the look of this one.

I remember about the snaking thing. Is it still present here in MK7? I wish they removed it.

You cant do it like you could on MKDS but its not as restricting as MKW, some levels are better than others for it tho like rosalina's ice world. Its not a matter of wiggling anymore tho, you have to hold the corner but if your clever you can take corners at weird angles and slam the other direction to get the desired effect.

My impressions:
Great display of 3D, doesn't strain the eyes unlike Ridge Racer.
The graphics are magnificent for such a console.
The FP mode worked very well and it's incredibly easy to swap back.
All tracks are magnificent, and the classic ones are finely polished.
The online mode for this game is more robust then expected.

All these aside, lacking missions from the handheld predecessor Mario Kart DS is a huge minus.
There are very minor glitches, but I doubt anyone would notice.
Plus, are the opponents made tougher? I nearly missed my 1st a few times when playing 50cc. This happens only in 100cc in the older games. :O

Either way, this game deserves about 8 - 9/10. The online is beautiful, interface is brilliant and fully animated and the tracks are wonderfully done. The only major downside is the 'meh' single player mode.

That's all I guess. Sums it up. :P
