The Alien Breed series consists of 3 top-down twin-stick shooters from Team 17. The same team who released the original game for the AMIGA computer back in 1991. The games feature lots of action, exploration, weapon/item upgrades, excellent graphics, and co-op options. Team 17 is currently having a PSN sale, and each of these games is just $4.99. If shooting aliens isn't your thing then Worms 2 Armageddon and its DLC is also on sale. Check out the links below for more information on the Alien Breed games.

If you prefer the PC then be sure to check out Steam, where a 3 pack of the games is currently available for just $11.50.

So this would play a lot like Dead Nation then? Pretty cool stuff. I really wish I had a PS3 right now, but nope, haven't had one since July. :/

Can't say I consider it to be a twin stick shooter myself but then I played it on PC. For me a twin stick is where you're in an arena and you fight off hordes of enemies, you don't quite do that with this game...there is more to it than that.

The new version is very meh+, I loved the original games (not the crappy 3D Doom clones though) they had a great atmosphere to them and also were pretty damn hard too. I finished the new ones in no time.

I can't stay focused when it comes to gaming on a PC, and the 360 I have access to isn't my own, so I'm certainly not spending any money if I'm uncertain I'll ever own the console myself. I'll have a PS3 again soon enough. I'll just wait until then.

Generally, people just consider a two stick shooter to be an arcade shooter controlled primarily by the two analog sticks on a controller.
