Alright chrismas is coming, and me and my family decided to buy a psp for my little brother, heres my problem, i told them, we could get a psp go for 100 euros, after that i would mod it without a problem, and they agreed, but thing is, the shop i saw it by 100 euros, doesntt aswer neither my emails, nor my phone calls, so i doubt it that they will even send it, i wanted a psp go instead of the others because it had 16 gbs of memory included, and i knew what i would be dealing with to mod, the thing is, i can always get a 1000 model for that price, but i will have to mod it all on my own, and that i suspect will come as expensive as buying a psp go for around 160 euros ? what should i do ?

Well =p not much sugestions here, i saw my 2 cheaper option was to buy a psp E-1000, + a memory stick duo 4gbs for around 115 euros, doesnt seem all that bad plus my little brother has 10 years =p 4 gbs might be enough for him, wich leaves my question now, modding a psp e-1000 or a go is pretty much the same thing right ? just put the firmware inside and run it ? Thanks for any aswer in advance =p

Yes...it's an identical process. Just use the sticky guide by Rydian.

Hi, I thought you might like a file I ran across a little while ago. Google search "Mod Any PSPv6" and download it. You'll have great use for it judging by your original post. Good Luck. :D

Uh, as I see it that's the 09g 6.20 downgrade, which is NOT needed, and NOT recommended as it brings technical issues with it.

Rydian, no offense, but you have no idea what you are talking about. You are commenting on Mod Any PSPv5. Here is a direct link to the file I'm speaking of *cough*splutter* :teach:

You seriously recommend a 1GB download for such a simple process??? For a new user that Mod is totally ridiculous....

I wrote guides showing people exactly what to do and instructing them to download only what's needed (adding up to 45MB at the most) for every PSP model and firmware.

You're linking to a file hosted on a piracy site which contains multiple redundant firmwares adding up to 933MB (and even including copies of 5.00 and 5.50 GEN firmwares which are not needed), only seems to opt for 6.39 for the 2000, and has a bunch of other tools including such things as the 6.20 downgrade, and 10+ plugins that are automatically installed, popsloader modules (which are illegal to redistribute, BTW), and I'm not even halfway done looking through that package. You're linking to a giant shit pile that's a mix of outdated (and dangerous!) tools over ten times the required filesize.

I think you're the one that doesn't know what you're talking about.

1 - I didn't find v6 because I wasn't looking on piracy sites, and I didn't think that v5 and v6 would be so different.

2 - They'd need to open the torrent and selectively download the instructions (which, BTW, are partially in sub-folders they'd need to expand and look through), and then go back once the torrent is done and re-enable the files they needed.

3 - Those steps are a hassle compared to just having the guide in front of you to begin with.

4 - Could you name some of the reasons 6.39 is better than 6.60? Saying it's better because it's better doesn't cut it. And that doesn't discount 5.00 and 5.50 and GEN, which are in there, and outdated. The only reason somebody would need 5.00 nowadays is to do a clean OFW install in order to upgrade, and I didn't see hellcat's or another flasher in the 1000/2000 sections when I looked.

5 - Fucking what? It's a folder structure you're supposed to copy-paste onto your PSP, the structure includes an seplugins folder with those plugins!

6 - I don't mind collection packs, but that seems to have been done without the author's consent (and there have been issues with that recently since many things are GPL'd but people redistribute without source), and in addition they're enabled by default and don't seem to have a proper set of instructions, so the users would have to go in and edit the files to disable the ones they don't need, which is again MORE hassle on them. That's not even getting into the asinine nature of assuming everybody wants the same plugin pack. Also, pirated materials are pirated materials and not to be linked on this forum, period.

7 - You may not, but the "guide" you linked does, which is the issue. You can clearly see the downgrader and 5.50 GEN packages in it. No danger in the downgrader?!? People who downgraded were stuck on 6.20 with an error code until later when a fix for them to upgrade again was released. Did you not pay any attention to that news?

8 - vdsmk;ghzwlkh

The pack you linked has improper instructions, is much larger than needed, contains duplicate files, contains outdated information and potentially dangerous tools, as well as pirated materials. It is not a "guide" you should be linking people to on this forum, end of story.

Jesus fucking christ you have got to be trolling.

Rydian, ten reasons for you to rethink your position in regards to me. On a side note, I hope you learned something by reading through the files of Mod Any PSPv6 as your right, it is the "shit."

#1. You spoke about Mod Any PSPv5 to begin with in your last post which was completely ridiculous and easily avoidable. Rydian, I guess you don't realize that when you use a P2P program like "utorrent" for example you can select the files you need. So this obviously negates the need to download extra files. #3. I know a lot of people on these forums are young, but I find it incredibly hard to believe that you guys don't know this. #4 6.39 is better than 6.60 for numerous reasons and the majority of people agree with that statement, so it is not outdated and plugins are ALL up to date. #5 The plugins are not automatically installed because that file pack is NOT A INSTALLER (.exe) . #6. The Plugins you can choose to use are the most popular ones and most users would and do appreciate that they are all in one place to be used, if the user decides to do so. #7. I never tell anyone to downgrade or to use a CIPL Flasher because permanent firmware is not better than Light Custom Firmware (There is no danger in having a program like the downgrader and you Rydian don't get to decide what any user decides to do) #8. Any person can write a guide. That guide does not make you the end all authority on PSP Custom Firmware. #9. I know what I'm talking about as I have been flashing PSP's since day one. #10. I have no more time to tell you how you've been owned once again. Now deal with it! :D
lol thanks for the entertainment~

6.39 and 6.60 PRO has virtually no difference in functionality whatsoever. Meaning, it all comes down to the functionalities of the OFW (here). 6.60 being more up to date, obviously has enhanced security and adds more functions (according to Sony, anyways). Additionally, from my limited knowledge on Media Go services, I believe only the most up-to-date firmware (meaning, 6.60) is eligible to use those services. Furthermore, current psp are released with a stock firmware of 6.60; it's not worth the time and patience to hack with 6.60 PRO, downgrade to 6.39 OFW, and then re-hack with 6.39 PRO, when you could have stopped at step 1.
