Hey I have a wii that I hacked over a year ago using Indiana pwns which at the time had all the up to date stuff on it, the only thing I have updated on it is USB loader GX and that's only coz it can do it online so no messing about with files and sd cards. My question is why do all the games work? I have had almost all the new and most popular games and they all worked straight away with USB loader GX and neogamma, apart from monster hunter tri which needed a couple of changes in its settings to work. I always see threads where people are saying their game isn't working and people advising them to update cios and stuff but why, is it because these people haven't hacked it properly in the first place or because some wii models are different?

make a syscheck and use modmii to check it and update you'r wii

Hmm, basically, he doesn't need any help. Everything is working fine for him. So, don't update anything, kiel379, if you don't need to. Do have cIOS249 d2x v6 (base 56) on the side, if ever you encounter a faulty game, as this might solve your problem instantly.

there are many reasons:

1. The first reply you got is already a perfect example, people don't read close enough!
2. Outdated guides
3. Too many options, there are so many cIOS versions and IOS bases and there is SNEEK aswell
4. Again many options on what loader to use GX, CFG, WiiFlow, ..
5. Guides are (hopefully) written by people with a clue what they are doing BUT usually people without a clue follow them.

Also never change a running system :)

LOL did you even read the post? The OP says he has NO problems loading games and is wondering why other people do.

@OP
I've also never had problems loading games. Maybe all those people with loading problems have used CIOSCORP or DARKCORP at some point that messes stuff up.

If you want, I can suggest some things that will screw it up. :P

But seriously...Sangor already explained the most important parts. I'd like to add a couple, though:

6. wrong assumptions. The majority of people who post issues* are also the ones thinking they know what they're doing. They think their firmware matters because it does on other consoles. Or they assume that it's better to remove a hack and start again if it's faulty.
7. ignorance. Those very people who have issues barely know what a cIOS is or what it does. Most of them know little more than that they're using "cIOS249" (version? base IOS? They don't know). They're almost proud that they're noobs and want to learn AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE about hacking whatsoever. I've had a few pb's of people that "asked for help". And that's between brackets because after a few rounds of giving advice, I started to get the feeling they wanted me to be responsible for hacking their wii.
EDIT: less than a day later, and someone gives a perfect example of what I mean.
8. distorted vision. this is a forum. The far majority of threads are started by people who have problems or want to ask something. That way, it may seem like there are way more issues than there really are, because the ones who don't have problems don't have any reason to make threads about it. I think your first reply on this thread reflects that: we're SO used to people making threads about problems that we're automatically assume it goes for everyone. I bet that if I make a thread in this section that I have financial problems, people will still tell me to use modmii to fix it. :P

And to answer your question: nope. No different models. under the hood, wiis are for the most part the same. cIOS'es are region free. Firmware matters very little. The color not at all (even that slim model apparently hacks the very same way). And the differences in region are also so slim they're pretty much ignorable.

*not all of them, though.

hahaha yea I would probably be one of them :P

The only major difference is the version of boot1 which prevents bootmii to be installed at boot2, which removes some brick protection. Other than that theres no real difference in terms of hacking.

I would like to see your syscheck read out though, for those of us who are plagued with intermittent issues, having that template would be good standard to measure by.

I'm just like you, OP. I laugh at the multitude of people desperately trying to get Kirby and Zelda running.

It just works. No updates, no nothing. Load and go.

He's not asking for help, he's wondering why things work for him with minimal effort while others have games crash and freeze.

The answer is he hacked his wii at a good time and is using programs that don't update.

kiel379, we have a section of the site devoted to questions
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?app=ask
If you're trying to start a big ol discussion you came to the right place but if you want people to read your wall of text to answer your single question consider that link. People who give the best answers get rated and they are more encouraged to give an honest answer instead of saying 'everything works whats the problem?'

Must be nice. Those two games (with Metroid: Other M being a close third) have given me more problems than any of the 319 games loaded on the USB drive. Though I'm now starting to believe that it's the loaders, not the IOS's nor the game dumps that's the real culprit. The newer versions of USB Loader GX were crashing the games after a mere 20 or so minutes, CFG loader lasted about 2 hours before it too started freezing. WiiFlow has been above and beyond, the most stable as it hasn't crash after nearly 6 hours of continuous play and it hasn't had an issue yet.

If you tell me how to do it I would gladly post one lol

As another user stated above, it isn't necessary. Not in my case anymore. But for future reference, it can be done through ModMii or downloaded from the Homebrew Browser under the utilities section.

What!? You mean to tell me it doesn't?

It does, in a way :)
It allows you to play... "less legal" game copies, and therefore saves you money, which in turn helps your economy :)
Lol what do you mean, I've been on this site a few months now and have never heard of anyone on here pirating games
