This hack of FFV Advance aimed to replace the GBA music track with the original SNES music. Well, the hack is finally complete and available for download. The implementation of the SNES music has greatly reduced CPU usage, now spell animations will playback at the correct speed and without the previous lag. Read more about this hack and grab a copy for testing via the link below.

Now if someone decided to redo the music of Super Mario Advance 2, because the GBA music is awful compared to the SNES version.

The patch is causing the game to crash for me as soon as it loads with Visual Boy GX (newest version). Anyone else having this problem?

Note: I've used two different roms and tried it using the softpatch method and a hardpatch with JIPS (I don't think there's a compatible IPS patcher for Lion anymore).

it look like it ONLY for the EU version of the game

Q: I can't apply your IPS patch to my ROM / It crashes when loading.
Q: On which ROM should the patch apply ?
A:
You should use an European version of Final Fantasy V advance only.
The reason for this is that you can play
it in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish,
so more people are targeted by the hack.
I did it on a file I dumped myself with my GBA linker,
and it should be compatible with ROMs floating around the undernet.
It won't work with a USA or Japanese ROM
(but saves seems to be compatible, although don't blame me if they aren't).

i patch my Self dumped USA game
ran it
got white screen on my CycloDS and ez 3-in-1

Tried to softpatch with Europe version and it crashed same as before.
Hard patched it with IPSWin and it produced a Rom that stuttered a good bit during the opening cinematic.
Again, this is with Visual Boy GX... thoughts?

Visual Boy GX is always choppy (since the wii port relies heavily on frameskipping) but the game itself runs fine on the Windows version. Try Lunar IPS instead of IPSWin. Perhaps Mednafen Wii will get more optimization in the GBA portion and will surpass VbaGX in terms of choppy speeds.

I have the nointro/goodgba eur verified version and I patched this with gbata and even used vba-m 1022 auto ips but both of them will not play on vba-m. Has anyone got this to work?

I thought I'd just ask, is it possible to apply a patch like this to the new ios version? it uses the same tracks as in advance and it would be a much better game with the original snes tracks.
