Let's just hope Nintendo keeps their promise and make the DLC have "real substance".

Nothing like the caliber of Fallout, but new stages/tracks/whatever is nice.

I'm fine with this as long as I don't get screwed over by expensive DLC

When did they do that? MML =/= Megaman Main Branch.

Megaman Universe got canned too.
Those are just two games though, they're going to release Megaman Online soon (in korea) anyways.

and what if its expensive and ridiculous?

If it's expensive and ridiculous, you can just not buy it.

Such a difficult solution to your multiple comments of bitching.

Truth to be told, we all complain now, and by next year we'll all have Acekards 3DS in our 3DS Lites and probably won't give a flying about the entire issue.

Get angry and go on forums complaining like a normal person

Nah I just wont buy the DLC.

From what I read, yes, they will selectively have paid DLC. Nintendo won't supply them in the forms of unlocking content already in the game or adjusting numbers that alter gameplay, but new levels and such. Third-party companies don't have to follow that route if they don't want to.

Guys, DLC isn't something that's always bad. I hope you guys understand this. Sometimes, they're abusive, sometimes, they're not. It's up to us to choose the ones who benefits the game.

For example, if a game like Sonic Generations choose to sell extra-levels for a price, I would buy them with no second thought. Seriously.

Aren't those extra stories/levels in Samurai Warriors DLC?
Or is that just 'unlocking content that's already inside the game' like DiscostewSM says?

I don't think anyone really had much interest in that. Besides, that was partly due to Keiji's leave, anyway IIRC. I can't imagine a Keiji-less universe.

Besides, that's technically not the main branch, it's just an extra game made for fanservice.

For those who say that DLC will totally wreck the use of SpotPass, well personally I find that it won't. Devs have the choice to incorporate this feature or not. And only minority groups are really utilizing the use of SpotPass (for now maybe?).

Damn I do not want to spend $4.99 on 10 Kasumi outfits... I know they're hot

but...

Just a joke

I really think this is great. Of course there is room for abusing, like other devs have done, but then I just wont support those games. The benefits outweigh the risks imho.

For example, Phantasy Star Zero for the DS was an awesome and epic mmo-style experience for the DS. I really freakin loved it, and its potential. But once you have beaten the main game, and played the 5 or 6 mildly unique levels once or twice, it is boring. At the time I wished so madly that there was online DLC for DS games, because I wanted more to play with people online!

Basically, I look forwards to it. With this level of gfx, power, and connectivity the 3DS might be the generation of truly fun online mmo-style portable rpgs! Yay!

...how are they gonna do this? is this gonna be TRUE DLC, with persistent data? or something like, already in cart, gonna unlock kinda shit? because if it's on the cart already, then by all rights I ALREADY PAID for it if i bought it. make sense?

if they're gonna do true DLC though, then things are looking good. still dunno how they gonna do that though, if they're gonna use the SD slot, will it be fast enough, etc.

It will be "real" DLC, as in new content not found on the cart.

then we'll still see what gets to come out of that feature...

if they manage to do some seriously done DLC, like all new-levels, augments/upgrades with fixes to existing game system/mechanics, then it sounds awesome already.

all they gotta do now is release Phantasy Star Zero 3D/Monster Hunter 3D, then slap it with DLCs... gaaaaah. XD
