Really, haven't I spoiled you enough already? Went back to work today, so here's a little preview of the theater intro scene in #tinytoon DX 2 for #gameboycolor, before I come back with more!

Maxx is really bad at naming movies, he named them by genre.

This will look so great on an Analogue Pocket.

A smal artistic change I allowed myself to do here was to add shadows to Beeper & Calamity, so they'd look like they're chasing in front of the movie screen. Sprites were complex, and I had to restrain myself because they'd be sharing a screen with Elmyra later, but it's a lot of overlays! #tinytoon #gameboycolor

(Also, forgive me for the little montage, as Calamity never gets that close to Beeper in the game. But I had to show them both at the same time!)

I don't know why, but for whatever reason they both look far better here than in the previous game. Maybe that's because of the larger sprites?

Yes, these sprites are very large and detailed. If you were to use them ingame, there would be shimmering everywhere.

I actually had used more overlays at first (beeper should be red and orange), but that would make calamity's tail disappear.

So I decided to make him a priority, considering he looked more "monochrome" without overlays than beeper did.

That probably explains why the characters in the official Game Boy Color games (like Dizzy's Candy Quest) never have their correct colors.
