Megaupload died way before the 3DS being hacked was a thing, you are confusing it with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_(service).
No links to pirated content allowed sorry.

Yea that's fine, I'm not too worried about finding that stuff.Megaupload died way before the 3DS being hacked was a thing, you are confusing it with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_(service).

Yea, that's my plan. I can't play Ultimate SM.It has been so long you should outright rehack your 3DS.
And add Luma, you need it for newer games.
I wouldn't even know how to start everything over from scratch.

Had no experience of LayeredFS crashing when using fan translations, but that might be something to consider. The rest seems like minor updates with support for prototype firmware. I'm currently on the previous version of Luma3DS so I don't see a reason to update unless I experience the issues as the release log states. Still good that Luma3DS is continuing to be updated.Github link for those interested: https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS/releases/tag/v13.4
me neither. it's been months since i fired up the 3ds, probably time to give a full charge (as usual). yea, im not the kind of person that jumps whenever there's a new update, im probably still on 13.2 or something, if it works it works..Had no experience of LayeredFS crashing when using fan translations, but that might be something to consider. Gateway 3DS has not been updated in nearly a decade. If you want to continue using it with latest firmware then you need to manually set it up how. https://gbatemp.net/threads/setting-up-gateway-luma3ds-on-11-17-guide.640070/Hey all - I fired my 3DS up after about 6 years this week and saw there's an update available for it. I have Luma and godmode9 set up on it and also have a currently working Gateway card with alternate startup method (I think holding d-pad right and select gets into my GW NAND but I honestly don't remember).
All this to say, I'm seeing conflicting info about the latest official firmware. I'm assuming the safest thing to do is turn off WiFi and never connect to the Internet again, but wanted to ask here if the latest FW is supported and if there are any steps I should take before running it to preserve my existing hacks.
EDIT: Seems the page before this has some info about updating on newer firmware. I have my work cut out it seems if I want to update to the new bootloader to support the latest Luma version before updating my OF FW. I guess the only concern would be if my Gateway card is still supported or not.
Thanks - I was able to update Luma without issue, and my GW card still works as intended (right-press during boot for different NAND). I believe I already made the transition in the guide you posted shortly before the switch launch in 2017, with B9S.Gateway 3DS has not been updated in nearly a decade. Besides that, Luma3DS has supported the latest firmware and there was never any risk of bricks or bans with it. It is not recommended to stay on older firmwares because, other than archaic setups like Gateway 3DS, it provides no benefits.

boot9strap can't be removed via firmware update. So, you are safe. Update luma to the latest version, then your firmware to 11.17.Thanks - I was able to update Luma without issue, and my GW card still works as intended (right-press during boot for different NAND). I see when I boot up normally (not pressing anything) I boot into Luma sysNAND (Settings screen shows "Sys" next to version).
My current firmware is 11.6.0-39U. Since my system is already hacked then, does that mean I'm good to install the latest system firmware 11.17.0-50U to get rid of the update prompt? No further action needed to get B9S or Luma back?
