So today my husband's boyfriend sneakingly updated my unmodded version 1 switch 1 firmware to the latest version available while I was taking piss in bathroom. Is my switch as good as a brick at this point? I am mainly concerned about the lack of free sysmodule ram so I might not be able to run as much sysmodules as I wish if I start homebrew (assuming that Atmosphere developers can't find any solution to reserve more ram for sysmodules).

It seems to me that undoing firmware update is as impossible as decreasing total entropy of universe. What are my options for homebrew? I read that switch has two copies of internal memory named sysNAND and emuNAND. Is it possible to set up CFW on emuNAND then downgrade its firmware from version 21.0.1 to 19.0.1 while keeping sysNAND firmware unchanged?

You'll have to live with far less RAM for system modules but first check whether that might be enough with you current modules.
If not, try removing the less import once.
