updated ams. now it works just not my icons, but they are right size and interlaced....weird

Oh, so rectangle icons work, like I said I never used them so I don't even know how to make them, but I'm glad they work, thanks for clearing that.
I didn't think the "display_version=" crash was an issue, but thanks for the fix.
Did you made the icons .jpg the right bite size?
I made my icons in photoshop, and when I save them I choose "High quality 8", not "Maximum quality 12", and they work.
Post your icon and ini file, and I'll try if they work on my console.

i removed emuiibo and it worked, but again after the second reboot not. very weird

Weird is... I removed salty sd and now it works except icons even after reboot

Try also removing tesla overlays, if you have them, they crashed my TOTK LayeredFS mods for some reason, so may be they also crash sys-ticon.

I made my icons in photoshop, and when I save them I choose "High quality 8", not "Maximum quality 12", and they work.

I use Paint.NET because it shows exactly how many kB file will have before saving. It has quality slider too.

my console hates me.....i just made jpg and replaced em.....and it stopped to work again.....i give up lmao.....

Just do a troubleshoot of homebrew in contents folder, by checking after what homebrew you get a crash on boot with sys-ticon enabled. And if you find them then try to update them, and see if it helped, if not just choose what do you need more custom icons or that crashing homebrew.

I removed some homebrew and sys modules now it works. I wont update higher than 20.5.0. Was a mistake not to stay on 19.x. Would downgrade my emummc to 19.x, but i heard there will he probs with booting it.

Sorted. Just make sure FILE TYPE is .jpg, not jpeg

Is it not possible to use GIFs as icons? I've seen themes with animated backgrounds. Couldn't something similar be done for icons?
