With ScireM retiring, does that mean that once Nintendo updates the firmware, the "trick" to transfer one's EmuNAND's saves to a Switch 2 will not work anymore?

Yeah, I don't believe so. Because obviously as soon as the FW updates you have to update to allow the ability to transfer saves. And then means the SYSCFW is no longer able to be used.

I think Hekate is more important to maintain than AMS. You will not lose much from not updating AMS other than losing exclusive titles that might require the latest firmware. OFW will still run so will emuMMC.

RIP sysMMC CFW users.

If I update newest OFW (needed for online gaming) it will mess up CFW on emummc😭
Nintendo won last round, flawless victory

You can reboot to OFW from hekate.

The only "issue" will be to create a fresh emummc from unsupported fw version... But I think that is possible to downgrade the emu files using nandmanager.

Guys, don't despair if there is no more support for the Switch CFW,you will all play with PC emulators(as many already do).

i wish you all the best @SciresM , i really hope you can give atmosphere to someone else to update on your behalf. Not sure what I'm gonna do now if it isn't kept up to date, gonna have to stop my switch from ever updating now haha. I'm a noob so itll take me a while figuring it all out.
Once again thanks for the CFW and allowing myself and others to enjoy everything

Why? I have no problems running an older SysMMC/OFW than my EmuMMC/CFW. I have a v1, is it different for modchips?
If you update official fw it updates the firmware generally on the syscfw. As you say it doesnt touch the emuMMC. I dont know what their worry is about. Emu is a separate partition and only updates when its done manually.

Why? OFW and CFW are different NANDs are independant eachother. the only thing in common is the contents folder of atmosphère, but if you setting up correctly everything you should no have trouble at all.

I think its going to take some time butt someone will still update atmosphere, he didnt keep the github alone and we can all contribute, and it could evolve to be something like the ps4 backports for games that require higher firmaware
