As with most homebrew This app is broken with the new firmware 21.0. Could anyone recompile it with the latest libnx so it will work?

Do mods work with this on switch?? Trying out the HQ original font mod but nah, it don't want to load 🤷

Hello Lostbhoy,

Yes, mods do work on Switch, but only with specific versions.

Right now, the ones I confirmed to work in my Switch are:

Newer versions (Shipwright v9.1.1 and OoT Reloaded v11.0.0) exist, but they currently break mod compatibility on Switch.

Hope it helps!

Best regards,

Willsito

8.0.2 was that last version that offered Switch support. The devs dropped support for it due to lack of demand.

Modding is still easily possible if you use Retro to pull the manifest.json from .otr files generated using 8.0.2.

If you need them, I have switch compatible .otr files for the Twilight Princess mods on Gamebanana, as well as some i have made myself - Switch UI, Wild-era fonts for major locations and boss fights, and an alternative version of the Majoras Mask moon!

Thanks guys, I'm using MacReady Golf 8.06 I believe but it's no biggie, was really only the hq og font I wanted and the TP animations.

Did you make those @The_Chaotician?
You are correct, 8.0.6 was the latest version - I will double chck which version I'm running, but near certain it was the last supported Switch build.

I have a cut down version of OOT Reloaded which has the files from the TP mods removed from it to prevent duplication. Otherwise the TP mod packs were made by a user called PxExYxTxOxN on Gamebanana. I am happy to share the 8.0.6 compatible files for all of these if you want them, in addition to the one i made for NX assets (UI, Fonts, Moon etc.)

One of the modpacks (i forget which one) causes a crash in a very specific place during the final boss fight, where Zelda is first trapped in the pillar of flame during the escape from Ganons Castle segment. Other than that one instance, the game works perfectly fine.

Could you share it with us as well, please? Maybe it is a better option compared to OoT Reloaded SoH graphics pack: v10.4.1, which occupies more than 3gb...

Mine is nowhere near that big. It uses the HD version rather than the 4K one, and the images are compressed with retro when packaged into a compatible .otr. I found this to be the best compromise between graphics and performance with a touch of overclocking. Forget 60fps in combination though, it’s too laggy to play.

I can share to whoever wants it. Just need to figure out the best way of doing so. Even though it’s not 3GB+, it’s still a good 1.4GB worth…

Edit: To manage expectation, you might find some missing textures if you don’t use it in combination with PxExYxTxOxNs TP mods. As I mentioned, duplicates are removed so if no textures exist for any specific asset, it will appear in the good old N64/GC style and make your game look strange.

Edit2: Uploaded a couple of pics to show an early in-progress build of my Switch UI mod, for interest.

@Lostbhoy @Willsito_GG - Here you go!

NX Assets
OOT Reloaded

One caveat, the NX assets mod assumes you use the 3DS control scheme. You may need to edit your config so the textures/glyphs match your layout. If you need some screen grabs of mine, i'll drop them here too - just let me know or send me a DM. Unfortunately I can't/won't do commissions for other controller layouts due to lack of time, and this was made for my own personal use. 95% of it is my own work, save for a couple of edited textures provided by members of the Harbour Masters Discord.

The modded OOT reloaded is best used alongside the TP model packs (e.g. this one - https://gamebanana.com/mods/463484) as discussed already. They havent been updated in a long time, and these are the ones i have installed, and working correctly - I can provide proof if you really want it!

Happy Modding! :grog:

I was having internet problems and forgot to set the switch files but it’s fixed now. Enjoy :)

Has anyone encountered a crash when entering the door on the right hand side when entering lon lon ranch?

Using Mac Ready Golf btw, just wondering if the new version fixes it as i don't see it mentioned in rhe change log
