I admit that I don't know much about the Ys series, but I do happen to be a big PS2 enthusiast. So, this is great news to me.

While a lot of smaller games, like the Simple 2000 series, didn't make it overseas, I feel like most mid- and high-profile games got localizations. The ones that didn't, like the Dragon Quest V remake, an Initial D game, and Chain Dive, became higher-profile simply because they were Japan only.

I just did the research, and the original version of Ys V was for the Super Famicom. A fan translation patch came out for it about 10 years ago, but I guess no team has attempted to localize the PS2 remake. Big thanks to the dev(s).

Interested to try this one. The SNES version of Ys V isn't seen as a very good game. I wonder if the PS2 version fixed all the issues?

Depends on what you define as issues. They did change/fix a lot of stuff stuff yeah, and Dogi is a part of the story in this version too.
