You have to ask the Fund for Peace and I didn't make a classification, so Fund for Peace is one to determine if it is failed state.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragile_States_Index

I'm just saying if Trump intervenes as @Xzi described, it gets much worse with more and more failed state, or deeper failed state, along with their neighboring country, Afghanistan.
things could certainly spiral into civil war and become worse

although that's not clearly a guaranteed outcome

every intervention will not lead to a Iraq/ISIS scenario

we will have to watch and wait. However, as I've said, if the country is already struggling to provide food and water, then the current government is on borrowed time regardless

I can see now and I got your point.

As a US taxpayer I'd prefer we don't and would rather fix issues at home first. We've already demonstrated incompetency when trying to police the world since like the 50s
fix issues at home lol impossible. homelessness is always going to be a problem cos idiots keep using illegal street drugs, etc etc. If Iranians are getting killed for simply speaking out, that is unacceptable.

Half of people who go to drug rehab relapse in the first year

Ideally we would keep the drugs out of the country in the first place, but I realize that's probably a fool's errand

In countries where drugs are decriminalized, you do see better rehabilitation results. Still a better use of taxpayer dollars compared to another war a majority don't want (only 33% support what we did in Venezuela as it is)

What do you think about the Singapore strategy of execute first ask questions later regarding drug smuggling

Probably the nicest and most peaceful country I've ever been to. Expensive as hell though, lol.

I'm sure a lot of people thought the same thing about Germany during the Holocaust too. "Peace" created by instilling fear in the entire populace is nothing but an illusion. Peace is also meaningless without a baseline amount of freedom.

Decriminalizing all drugs and funding safe/use testing centers is the best solution to dealing with addictions as old as humanity itself. Obviously it's not something that can be "solved," only managed, given how much both the rich and poor alike love drugs and alcohol.

Don't know, not my country. I was only there for 2 weeks for a job interview, and the place was super nice, clean and peaceful. lol

I doubt the country;s gov will give a shit about what a bunch of Americans think of their laws, when a huge portion of the US is a "shit hole". lol

Right...I'm sure they don't give a shit what their own people think of the laws either, nor is the ruling class expected to follow those laws. That's how hypocritical authoritarians operate, up until their public execution anyway.

Don't pretend you care about the laws in other countries.

Your MO in all posts is this, Start a new topic with a headline to try to rile people up with hate, or post in a thread some sort of headline to try and get a heated response. Basically all your posts are designed to do is to try and rile up the same handful of simple mided individuals that frequent these threads. You care nothing/nada/zero about any other country or their laws. You only care about generating hate and discord.

Anyone can view your posting history and see this.

Projection much? This is totally you, but add fake statements and lies to that. Not to mention being banned 6-7 times for hate speech and then currently using yet another alt.

But back to the subject, I wonder if Iran is still funding all they're proxies, while the rest of the country's citizens suffers. And if Iran was attacked, would those proxies come to the aid of Iran?

"You clearly hate authoritarianism in your own country, therefore you must approve of authoritarianism in other countries."

Dumbest fucking logic I've ever seen. Opposite of logic, actually. Picking your nose would've required more brainpower than posting this.

Um I've been around people that have gone through rehab etc, they hardly ever get back on their feet. at least not here. Iran presses the issue of war with weapons they use against their own people anyhow.

Unsubstantiated BS.

Even if true, still a better objective than another foreign conflict where the US leaves the country worse off.

A hospital worker in the capital recounted "very horrible scenes", explaining that approximately 38 people died, with many succumbing immediately upon reaching emergency beds.

"The number was so large that there wasn't enough space in the morgue; the bodies were placed on top of one another," she said."

"After the morgue became full, they stacked them on top of one another in the prayer room."

Tehran's main eye specialist centre, Farabi Hospital, was forced into crisis mode as emergency services became overwhelmed by the surge in patients.

"I have never seen such scenes in my life," one staff member at a Shiraz hospital was heard saying in footage shared with IranWire, as colleagues attended to a woman shot in the head and connected to a ventilator.

"The shameless people shot her in the head and neck. Do you have any idea how many patients we have until now?"

Are you happy now?

So like again, is it the burden of the US taxpayers to attempt to "fix" this situation? I'm not doubting it's tragic but we don't make things better in the middle east.
