Another delay has come for Grand Theft Auto VI. Originally slated for release sometime in 2025, it was eventually pushed back to May 2026, and now, has been further kicked down the road to its new release date of November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games cites needing some extra time to polish up the game as the reason behind the delay.

Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

Thinking about my post above, is Saints Row 2 a better GTA game than Grand Theft Auto IV? I feel like there's an interesting debate there.
  • SR2 does bog itself down with Respect mini-games that are required to unlock story missions, but GTAIV has the infamous cell-phone mechanic and some necessary mini-games, like darts and bowling.
  • SR2's driving feels straightforward and PS2 GTA-like, and GTAIV experimented with more realistic/slippery driving mechanics.
  • Both games approach humor differently. SR2 tries to weave absurd humor into its narrative, and GTAIV chooses to be more serious.
I think GTAIV vs. SR2 is one of those debates that comes down to personal taste in open world gameplay, but I'd like to see how the two are compared.

who cares. i never been a fan of gta. all i did was fuck around on map, never actually playing missions. it was cool when it came out, open world and such but now its just massively overhyped games.
Yeah GTA isn't actually that good. It's more like Minecraft with guns. It's fun if you have friends who all pretend its fun. Can have some good minigames; but overall GTA games are incredibly bloated and poorly-paced experiences.

The single-player experiences are just awful.

Here's hoping the delay makes people realize it's not worth it.

Say, is RDR2 any good, thinking on getting that?
RDR2 is awful. And has a really toxic playerbase. Far worse than GTA on both counts.

Imagine a walking simulator that people on the internet get mad at you for for not tilting the analog stick to RP walk during specific cutscenes. And ludo-narrative dissonance that makes Tomb Raider look grounded. That's RDR2.

You ever try to rescue a hostage, but you tap the action button (killing her) instead of holding it (rescuing her)? That's RDR2.

Do not play.
