I modded my Wii using the ModMii Wizard and following the guide on Wii Hacks. The exploit ran fine and I can get the HBC running fine. I opted for the Wizard to install all three of the game loaders, and so far I can't get any to play my games. I formatted an 8gb flash drive FAT32 and also tried formatting it WBFS with Backup Manager. USBLoaderGX sees the games, shows the little animations before you'd press Start, and even plays the music. When I Start it the screen goes dark and stays that way. WiiFlow also shows the games and plays their music, but it goes to a screen full of dump codes and hangs there. I tried launching Configurable USB Loader but it comes up with an error at the bottom about custom IOS.

I don't know what I did wrong, and considering the tool was supposed to do all of the work I figured it should be right. I'm guessing the cIOSs it installed are corrupted, wrong, or something like this. How can I fix this?

Btw my SD card is 128gb formatted FAT32, the 8GB flash drive is currently formatted WBFS (using Backup Manager), and the games are in WBFS format ("installed" to the flash drive with Backup Manager), and the flash drive is plugged into port 0

Flash drives typically don't work well or at all with USB loaders, you need a USB HDD (or SSD), you can also put games on the internal SD card.

I initially had the games on the SD card and USBLOADERGX would just close back to the Homebrew channel, and WiiFlow would start the disc I had in the drive and after I removed it, it just went to a black screen instead.

Years so I soft modded a different Wii and I played from the SD card I believe, and I didn't modded my Wii U and played from flash drive with no issues. I really think the issue is cISO related somehow

It's pure luck whether a flash drive works with cIOS or not and there is usually no fix if it doesn't. Some work, most don't. If you change the loader IOS to 249 then probably it won't load the list of games at all, because the cIOS is just not able to read the drive.

For loading games from SD you want to make sure the paths are set to SD: and not USB: and you have the latest USB Loader GX (currently r1283)

Hmm. I guess I will move them back to SD card then. As for the app version, it's whatever ModMii downloaded automatically. I will check tomorrow and update it if so. But, why wouldn't the games load with WiiFlow either when the games were on the SD card?

I just thought about this... I'm supposed to manually run d2x and install the cIOSs MYSELF aren't I? The Wizard just prepares the SD card but it can't inject the cIOSs itself, can it?

When you use modmii it produces a bunch of wad files you need to install, the cIOS should be among those. Unless the steps have changed since I last used it and it now requires you to use d2x installer. Anyway, it should all be explained in the tailored guide it creates.

Thank you! I just finished watching a YouTube tutorial for ModMii and see exactly what I missed. I didn't install the WADs because I thought it was automatic 🤦🏼‍♂️

The video was made a year ago and the WAD installer included at the time was YAWM.

You don't need to watch a video. The whole point of ModMii is that it generates a customized guide for you as a html file. Nothing is automatic except the downloading of the files. Just read the guide it made for you.

I got it working last night. Just had to go into YAWM and install the WADs. I picked a red theme during the wizard setup but it's not applied on my system. Am I supposed to enable it somehow?

That is also something that would be explained in the guide it generated for you. Why do you insist on continuing to ignore my telling you to read it?
