Thank you for contacting us regarding the free racers in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. These racers are added to the game through free updates.

For example, Hatsune Miku the racer dropped as a free characters during the Hatsune Miku Festival which was held from 02/10/2025 to 05/10/2025.

This character should already be in your collection.

@CoffeeT the backup is from the PC version, you must remove the .sav extension before reimporting it with JKSV on nintendo Switch
use this from the command line in the current folder of the savegame :

for %f in (*.sav) do ren "%f" "%~nf"

@Arrowbow1 I re-encrypted the save for PS4 via Apollo Save Tool and it works very well (I have miku ) so for the future it will be good for PS4/PS5....

Will the joker ans megaman and other characters be a dlc (xci / nsp file) or we will have to use a save game to unlock them?

For Sega/free characters (Joker, Miku, Ichiban and beyond), you need to log in online to unlock them. A save file from someone who logged in can bypass this

For Paid/Season Pass characters (Minecraft, Mega Man, Spongebob, Pac-Man, etc), and the pre-order characters (Werehog, Sonic Prime characters), you need to find the NSPs to install them.

Hopefully OP can get their friend to share a new save file with us so that not only we unlock Joker but also the items from both the Miku and Joker events.

Based indeed. I am mostly interested in Ichiban myself, but I'd love to keep the Miku event rewards (especially the horn. It's really funny).
