More on-topic... is it just me or does MediCat (v21.12) always have a BSoD that says "KMODE Exception not handled" after exactly 3 hours and 6 minutes of uptime? I've had this happen on at least two different PCs, though they admittedly used rather similar hardware...

So this article is incorrect about there being a PS3 version via PSN?
https://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_CD_(2011)

I do have a PS3, and I have that loader to play it in Windows but I want to play the game on Linux.

However, steam on flatpak seems to work better in my machine that regular steam so I will try later with proton.

My point was that RPCS3 is natively available for Linux, and I don't imagine the PS3 version of Sonic CD 2011 is lacking compared to the PC version of Sonic CD 2011? (other than performance from emulation overhead)

Dude that thing is one of the most demanding emulators around, no thanks.
Hence:
I can't imagine that the likes of Sonic CD would be anywhere near as demanding to emulate as the likes of Uncharted 3.

Also we have no idea what PC(s) you're dealing with. (DISCLAIMER: I'm on a 4c/8t Haswell Xeon with iGPU)

Hello!

I used medicat to boot a Windows 11 install on a very old PC with no support for Win11, and I didn't need to do any command or regedit config to install it, it simply accepted to install on this legacy PC (from 2013)

My question is... Is medicat patching the ISO or the install for me and I didn't know?

The W11 ISO I just downloaded straight from M$.

Oh and I have a suggestion... Add h2testw too!

Thanks for this amazing tool, I loved the lockpick hehe.

Edit: wow, even the oobe bypassnro was applied?!? How so?

the installation process created a temporally file to install on your system. the ISO got unaltered.

Amazing huh?
Out of curiosity, how does this work?
And if I install on a supported PC, will it detect and not apply those patches?

As far I know, Windows is installed on a WinPE enviroment, Windows installation start a Windows Preinstallation Environment on memory, that installation have his own Registry, you can change values of that registry with a «answer file» which is a text file with values, one of those values control if the installation process check for some hardware. so Medicat calls the installation passing a temporal file as answer file setting that value.

If you like to dig into that, search for windows installation answer file.

is it possible to skip the windows 11 activation like in rufus without the need to type something in the command line?

  1. Run adw cleaner, https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner and maybe a malwarebytes scan also after if it doesnt fix issue then follow steps 2 to 4.
  2. In notepad paste "WScript.Quit" without the quotes. Save 2 times to separate files.
  3. Rename them to Maintenance.vbs and StartupCheck.vbs (you may need to disable hide known extensions to get rid of .txt)
  4. Move the files to C:\Windows\system32
Also it was probably this check this for more information:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/a...or-on-star?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers

To remove the StartupCheck error, first download Autoruns:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

  • Unzip autoruns64.exe, then right click and run as administrator.
  • In the Quick Filter box up top Enter: startupcheck
  • You should see a Task Scheduler entry: \Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\StartupCheckLibrary
  • Right click on this entry and Delete.

To remove the Maintenance error

  • Enter installwinsat in the Quick Filter box
  • You should see a task named \Microsoft\Windows\Maintenance\InstallWinSAT
  • Right click on this entry and Delete

Go right ahead and swap out my ISO images with your own as you see fit, sir. :) I have never heard if SpinRite, and PartedMagic is included on my DVD, which includes Gparted, and many more tools with it. Including Gparted would be redundant with PartedMagic already there.

Oh, and I edited the Linux Mint ISO so that after installing Mint to a harddrive, it won't remove the Gparted application from your system.
I just created an account to reply on your project.
I just wanna say "Thank Youu! " For making this project available for us!

Can you update some tooling?
And how can I make a donation to your work?
