I recently bought a Rhythm Tengoku repro cartridge for my DS Lite. It didn’t come with a battery since I tested the cart by flashing it with the default Rom and it didn’t save, so I decided to patch it to be batteryless but I also want to import my save file from my 3DS since I have fully perfected it there I have exported my save data but I don’t know how to import it to my cartridge. I tried GBA backup tool with no luck. It would also be helpful since the game patch I’m using (Rhythm Heaven Advance) is still receiving updates and I would like to stay up to date without loosing my save file.

You have to use a hex editor such as HxD. If you're using the auto batteryless patcher, it will tell you the offset the save file is stored at in the ROM, or you can search the ROM for the magic string "<3 from Maniac" to find this offset. Then copy the contents of the save file to this location.

Buy a cart flasher (GBxCart RW, GB Flash, or Joey Jr, NOT the shitty GB Operator!) and you can use FlashGBX to flash the save files to the batteryless ROM with no issues. No hex editing nonsense either.
